I sold an item for $250.00 and then I see "selling costs" , "Transaction fees", and "Ad fee general" totaling $75.58 that over 30% of the sale. Then they try and slide in the "Bright blue button Get Shipping Label" and try and take more of the sale just to print a label. This is crazy with all of the other auction sites out there now.
Then to find out the funds are not available to the seller for approximately 3 days until Ebay can confirm the buyer has no issues. My ad clearly states look closely at the photos and there are no returns. If the buyer has any concerns they should contact me before buying.....
Ebay needs to do WAY better, they are going to lose a lot of customers.

Advertising is voluntary. You don't have to use it if you want to lower your costs.

You sold a car part. Tough business. People do not do their research, buy then complain the part does not fit. Seems you used "Promoted Listings" to sell you item. You don't have to. Also if you can find shipping cheaper elsewhere, you should use it.

You apparently have no understanding of how to sell on Ebay or other Internet marketplaces.
It is commonplace for new or infrequent internet sellers to be subject to 30 day or more holds on payments.
Ad fees are optional and you apparently were mighty generous with how much of your sale you committed to advertising.
Ebay's transaction fees are comparable to other major internet marketplaces.
Your buyer pays the shipping cost stated in your listing. That shipping fee is included in the proceeds of the sale, and you need to buy the shipping. Any errors in what you charged the buyer are to come out of the proceeds.
You cannot have a no returns policy on Ebay or other major marketplaces. Any error in describing the item, misrepresentation or failure to disclose a defect, any shipping damage, or other flaws make the item returnable for Item Not As Described.
Ebay does not need to do any better than it is, it is competitive with other services.

'funds are not available to the seller for approximately 3 days'....for you it will be 30 days...per eBay having a hold on infrequent sellers...just a heads up.

None of that matters, buyer has 30 days from time of receipt to file an INAD.
The MBG overrules your no returns.

Every selling venue has money holds.
You want no holds do the time and prove yourself or list on the marketplace.

Transaction fees
everyone pays these. They are 40 cents plus 13.6% of the buyer's total payment in most categories.
Ad fee general
These are optional fees you have to opt into on an item-by-item basis. If you did not want to pay them, why did you opt into them?
Get Shipping Label
You do realize that UPS, Fedex, and the USPS are not free, right? And that is why your buyer of your mirror paid $20 for shipping, just as you specified in the listing?
Ebay needs to do WAY better, they are going to lose a lot of customers.
No they aren't. They are just going to lose a few sellers who can't be bothered to learn how eBay works.

I dont have those kinds of holds, its been released as soon as its delivered.
Is this because my account is older? I have not listed here in years.

Sellers cannot avoid eBay's Final Value Fees, which are a percentage of the total amount paid by the buyer.
Read those words again: Total. Amount. Paid by the Buyer.
In most categories, that percentage is 13.6% but could be as high as 15.3% depending on the category where your item was listed. eBay also retains a per-order fee of 40 cents if the Total Amount Paid by the Buyer is $10.01 or more.
(It's only 30 cents if the total amount paid by the buyer is $10.00 or less.)
You mention "ad fee general" fees, which apply when the seller (you) chooses to promote his/her listings.
To complain about something you chose to do doesn't make much sense.
Many, many eBay sellers do not choose to promote their listings and live happy and fulfilling lives, without paying eBay any more than is necessary.
When you, the seller, click on Get Label Now, you are not merely printing an address onto a piece of paper. You are actually purchasing the postage through the United States Postal Service -- or FedEx or UPS, if that's what your listing offered. USPS, FedEx, and UPS won't deliver anything without being paid.
"Then to find out the funds are not available to the seller for approximately 3 days until Ebay can confirm the buyer has no issues. My ad clearly states look closely at the photos and there are no returns. If the buyer has any concerns they should contact me before buying....."
It's OK for eBay sellers not to accept returns of the items they sell, for some reasons. However, a refund is not a return.
As long as certain conditions are met, buyers are allowed to request refunds. And eBay will recover any refunded money from the seller.
Using eBay means acceptance of eBay's rules.

Have you received all the funds from the sold items in March already?

Only one is not because its still in transit. Shipped to Hawaii. Supposed to arrive April 12th according to tracking.
My funds released as soon as delivered. I was assuming Id have longer holds since I have not listed in a long time. Their estimated release was way longer too.

"This is crazy with all of the other auction sites out there now."
Make sure you read the selling criteria before you list anywhere else, or you will remain confused. The buyer pays you for the shipping, you then use that to pay for the label.

Yes, Nobody likes fees but you have to remember that it's eBay's sandbox and we play by their rules. You are more than welcome to go elsewhere. What you are paying for are the MILLIONS of user's eyes on eBay.
Price your item accordingly.
My 3 Cents....
