Ridiculous. Over the past few years ebay has gotten awful. Terrible cust service, outrageous fees and  ow this pathetic payment system theyve come up with. I absolutely hate eBay at this point. No matter what the issue no matter what the problem no matter when I call they are absolutely terrible and never take care of any issue whatsoever. I have been a member with 100% feedback since 2006 and have done hundreds of thousands of dollars of business with them over the years and they treat me as if I just popped off of the street yesterday and spent zero money with them I hate them as a company.

Well, if I had all these problems and felt that strongly about them, I would probably leave and not do business with them.  Just a thought.

Yeah, what a terrible company that allows you to make hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales. The nerve!

I have come to the conclusion that because PM is different it must automaticlly Be bad. It must stop sales and charges are at least 10 times what they must have been prior to MP. If this is your belief ebay  is probably not the site for you to sell. I have seen neither a drop in sales and in a number of cases I pay less for sales.  You can also select your payout to what is convient to you. Have yet to any missing funds and payout has been as I selected. I am also flustrated a little with customer sevice but will cut them some slack I think there is a pandemic going on.

I think that eBay seller fees are just fine. Lots o money left for me after their fees are deducted.

No place else with the same # of viewers to consider purchasing my items.

I think they're quite reasonable.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Yea, of course as a seller you will think that fees are a tad high.  But as others have noted, the fees are higher elsewhere except perhaps on CL, which has a really tiny fraction of an audience and where I get almost no sales.

I think every seller on every venue that charges fees would prefer the fees to be lower.

That being said ...

Overall, I think the fees on eBay are commensurate with the exposure you are purchasing with them.

But there are millions of sellers here and thus there are millions of different experiences. I'm sure some commodities sellers like Amazon better, and some handmade sellers like Etsy better, and some clothing sellers like PoshMark better. A seller should choose whatever works best for his business.

I sell fairly obscure music memorabilia. There are not many buyers looking for a promotional 8x10 photo of the band Wall of Voodoo,  so my chances of finding any of those buyers on Facebook or Craigslist or Bonanza is much, much lower than it is here.

The major change in MPs is that eBay has added shipping into the calculations for FVFs so some sellers are experiencing a temporary dip in profit due to increased shipping costs and other factors. The platform as a whole right now is glitchy as it is whenever eBay makes major changes like this so that may also be a contributing factor.  eBay added shipping into the FVFs with MPs to combat sellers who would list an item for .10 cents and charge $20.00 for shipping which eBay realized was losing them a lot of money on FVFs as they did not include shipping in the full amount of the sale. The majority of my costs right now are shipping labels and not fees (I offer free shipping). It takes a little time to see but when you look at your metrics you'll likely see a decrease in cost to you with MPs over time. The cost of shipping labels alone is about 20% of my total sales at the moment from USPS via eBay.

eBay started charging FVF on the shipping more than ten years ago. PayPal has always charged their fee on the shipping. That has nothing to do with MP.

Sellers will see a small increase or decrease in FVF, which will fluctuate for each item, because the difference is caused by the sales tax % paid by the buyer.
