Well, we will need some more details...
Are you a mechanic, do you know cars and parts ?
Where will you source, new or used ?
Many here sell parts, the ones who specialize in one make, seem to do ok.
I sell aircraft parts, I have 40 years of aviation experience.
But provide more info of what you want to do.

Sure i'll be happy to provide more info! Basically i would be focusing on remanufactured brake calipers for every car, we have a warehouse where we actually rebuild the caliper ourselves and for 5 years now we have been selling locally but now we would like to try and dip our toe into the online world.
So because eBay has such a great community i figured i'd make a little post to get some feedback from people that have been doing this and that can tell me from their expereince how it's been.

Advice: invest in inventory control.

I am not an expert, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night but I have bought a few car parts on eBay..... I have only bought parts I was not in a hurry for. Although shipping every time was very quick I won't rely on that for a part I need. And for the parts I bought they were very inexpensive. You may want to check prices of like items being sold. Not listed but sold. It seems to be very competitive. The parts were all much cheaper then I pay locally, with one being 1/4 the price of a local purchase and that is with shipping. If you can compete with the pricing on ebay for like items, it can't hurt to try, any sale is extra money.
There was never yet an uninteresting life. Such a thing is an impossibility. Inside of the dullest exterior there is a drama, a comedy and a tragedy.

Well, sure in your case, I would say go for it.
But your market will be people who know in advance they need one,
or have a second car, and can wait for the parts to get there.
And then what about core return,
You will not get the guy who's caliper goes out on a Sunday, and has work on Monday.
Warranty.... Auto Zone has a lifetime warranty, can you ?
Auto Z had a life time warranty on brake pads, I went 20 years never paying for pads.
Then they changed it to only 3 replacements...

Check out the sold listings for calipers and see if you can compete. I know that the competition is heavy for those.
