This is something many sellers are having issues with a buyer ,for whatever reason, do not click on the button next to do you want to return this item on their purchase history, that states have you contacted the seller first. I Most will just leave negative or neutral feedback.
They never contact the seller so we don't even know their is an issue. Buyers should not be able to leave negative or neutral feedback until they have contacted the seller to work things out. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO OPEN A CASE FIRST! They should have to prove the item is defective or the seller was irresponsible. No more of this "item not as desribed, automatic refund".
Ebay you should protect your sellers, not just the buyers, many sellers get hurt. First, they get bad feedback, which hurt their sales which in turn hurts your profits. As many leave to go to Amazon, Posh, etc
Secondly, it encourages buyers to steal from sellers. Who have no choice but to give a refund. So they are out the cost of the item, your fees, shipping and paypal fees plus sometimes shipping to get a item back that is not in resellable condition.
Third, we as sellers need the leave buyer feedback button restored. We should be able to warn other sellers so they can avoid the sale, negative feedback that often results from bad buyers. This would seriously cut down on cases, returns, refunds and bad feedback.
Oh and I don't need the responses that it will turn buyers away if this should occur. It did not before and won't again. We make money you make money

Buyers are making false claims "not as described" and are not required to provide any evidence. ARE WE LIVING IN AMERICA? DOES THE CONSTITUTION BECOME NULL AND VOID FOR EBAY BUYERS?
Recently, I have had a buyer think that because the bottle of perfume containing 50 mL was in the photo, she was getting it when she purchased a decanted perfume from the bottle which was clearly described as containing 15 mL. The 15 mL which was offered was pictured directly next to the larger 50 mL bottle. She insisted since I showed both the large bottle and the decanted spray, that she should have received both. After several messages back and forth between myself and the buyer, no how, no way, was she ever convinced otherwise. Included in the photo was a pearl necklace pearls and some flowers. But, the buyer didn't expect to get those too. I am happy that my husband wasn't in the photo, or the buyer may have expected me to ship my husband to her, too.
Ebay actually approved a refund after I refused to refund the buyer and advised me that I could appeal the decision. However, after speaking to an Ebay representative, I was informed that first, the return label had to be printed by the buyer. So why did Ebay advise me that I could appeal their decision, but I have to wait to appeal the decision after the buyer returns the item?
Also, I've been getting mentally challenged and illiterate buyer's who don't really understand what they are reading. This becomes obvious whenever I attempt to respond to their messages.
EBAY should know better than to bite the hand that feeds them.
No offense, I see what you mean, but this Board has often advised never to show things in the listing pic that aren't included in the sale, so as to avoid just this situation.
And someone might take a fancy to your husband, LOL!

What does the Constitution have to do with buying on Ebay? Buying online is a privilege, not a right.
That said, perfume decants are against Ebay policy. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/prohibited-restricted-items/used-cosmetics-policy?id=4290

The constitution applies to individual rights being broached by the government. You do not have a right to buy and sell on Ebay.
Are they even teaching civics in schools any more?

Agree I cannot recommend opening a case since it will cost me money and slower shipping.

Am I reading it wrong, or did eBay just protect you from at least 2 negatives this month???

They do but some how people believe it applies to everything and they can use it as a sword and shield.

It would also seriously cut down on sales, too. Unfortunately, many sellers didn't post feedback responsibly~they posted "revenge" feedback~false, retaliatory feedback on a buyer in response to an honest neg~and buyers were leaving.
So yes, less sales will cut down on cases, returns, refunds, and bad feedback.

I looked at one of your listings and saw this.
"Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and any international country will pay international shipping rates."
How and why would you charge for international shipping by USPS to the states of Hawaii and Alaska?
