It's a shame Ebay wants to cut their own throats by restricting sellers accounts because they don't like what they got. Even if there are plenty of pictures. Oh well. Maybe they'll smarten up soon.

It is no surprise that people that run a SERVICE BUSINESS know NOTHING about selling.
They have no product, no inventory, so how could they possibly understand those that list on their service.
The current rulers are the most controlling by far. They are so far from reality, they believe what is listed belongs to them.
Except when there is a problem, of course. Then they don't have anything to do with it.

What is your restriction?
Too many cases against you closed without seller resolution?

One of the people I talked with from ebay told me they don't even look at the listing when they make a decision. Always for the buyer too. What a shame. But they don't realize they are making less money when I can't list items. I have 100% rating too. Sheesh!

OP,
Pictures and words in listings do not prove what was shipped or what was received. And even if eBay had the item in their hands, they still could not afford to pay a customer support representative to review every single case and determine whether it is a seller problem or a buyer problem.
So instead eBay has chosen to simply eliminate sellers who attract problems, regardless of the reason for those problems.
And IMHO they do not believe they are losing money, because very few sellers here offer truly unique items. If a sellers is restricted, buyers will simply buy similar items at a similar price from a similar seller.
THey have access to statistics from billions and billions of transaction, so I think the realize EXACTLY what they are doing.
Unlucky

Or ebay loses money when buyers do not get what they paid for so they no longer shop here.

Yes. And I have 100% rating. These folks at ebay don't care about the sellers AT ALL.

Sellers were warned well in advance that open cases result in defects which result in restrictions.
Maybe you did not care enough about your own accoiunt to clean it up. How is that ebay's fault?

Are you an ebay employee?

Are you an ebay employee

Except the eBay computer is really in charge and it can and will put you in jeopardy with out you doing anything.
Al that have to do is change the rules and then backdate the change.
As they did. And since nothing over 90 days can be corrected, any mistakes over 90, you are stuck with and NOBODY at eBay can do a thing about it.
You are just screwed and are told to just wait a year until things roll off.
I have had my limit increased so I could take advantage of the penny listing special and I did up to my limit for 30 days in June.
While I have had several sales, about one a day, July, still has my limit used up until all those listings end. Can't even use the 50 free. So, I can't list. How does that help eBay?
All because eBay changed the rules and backdated them a year.
Just because they could.

Just called CS about my lack of listing ability because I had all of my limit running from a June Listing Special.
The gave me a 120 item increase.
There was a problem with their phone system and it took two tries to get through.

I have the same problem. There is NO help. Horrible customer service. I called customer service and inquired why I have a "permanent restriction" on my seller account when I have 100% feedback... (not even 99.9% feedback but 100% feedback and have been a seller since 2004), and was given NO information. Only told that's not what they look at. I said this process seems very automated and seems like it was a mistake after 2 buyers claimed they didn't recieve the item or received the wrong item (both, I SWEAR were fraudlent cases to get a free item). I disputed both cases, and won 1 of them. But eBay always takes the buyer's side, so that was a miracle.
I told her I didn't think a human made this restriction, but it seemed very automated. She gave no help, no insight, just told me I'm not welcome to use eBay anymore and I have to sell using a different venue. I told her that's completely unfair, I have a perfect account. Then she told me "well this is exactly the kind of attitude we don't want on eBay". What the heck kind of customer service is this?! Amazon and Shopify would never treat their users like this! Ok rant over.
