Hello. I have been a seller here for almost a year and actually am surprised I haven't come across this before. I recently sold an item ($30 value/$9 shipping) via Buy It Now and saw that the buyer was a new account created that day with 0 feedback. In situations like this I reach out to confirm they are a real person and ask for any shipping requests. I did not receive a response. I reached out a second time because I noticed there could be some spelling errors in the address provided to ebay for my shipping label. I also did not receive a response. The item is paid for and the funds are in my ebay "Processing" queue so I obviously have to ship it, but I fear that it may not arrive or that it is a scam. Any advice. I looked through previous threads and basically came down to "Ebay does not really protect sellers much anymore". Thanks in advance!

Scammers target "high value" items (computer, cellphones, jewelry) things that can be easily resold. Just because someone has "zero feedback" does not mean its they are a scammer.
If EBAY says "awaiting shipment" you need to ship item promptly (otherwise your account will get "defect" for late shipping).

Just be sure to ship to the verified address listed for the buyer, and you'll be protected. If you're suspicious of said address, you can always verify that it's a valid address on the USPS site.

I understand. My initial message may have been vague. I have had zero feedbacks before and have never had an issue regarding communication. I was planning on shipping it today but was just curious what the procedure is if they botched their address on the ebay sign up and it ends up in limbo. From what I understand I am on the hook until it is flagged as "Delivered". Thanks for the reply.

And don't worry about the non response from the buyer, they have done their bit, they ordered and paid, they are now sitting back awaitingg their parcel.

You ship to the address provided with the payment. There is no “verified address”.
