Does anyone else use seller notes?
Is anyone else having any problems?
My seller notes keep getting erased.
I entered seller notes for an item I sold yesterday.
I even refreshed the page to make sure the note I had just entered was still there. It was.
Today I sold another of that same item and that note from yesterday is gone.
Perhaps I will post this on the technical issues page.

Relist or MQ? I ask b/c Seller Notes disappear with Sell Similars & I believe relists too. I use them a lot & when I end & re-start my listings, I have to make sure I copy them from my Ended Listings or I lose them. This is not new though, been that way for years.
If it was an MQ, IDK. Then I would expect it to stay.

I stopped keeping notes on eBay because they would vanish. it would be a very useful feature if they worked.

Hmmm, I've never had them vanish, except as stated above. Which always made some sense to me, since it's technically a new listing when you Sell Similar/Relist.

I'm going to do some more experimenting, but it seems like when i'm shipping out orders if I use the drop down menu to "add/edit note" that's when they tend to disappear later.
If from the seller hub i got to "active listings" and then use the drop down menu to "add/edit note" they don't disappear.

But even though that makes sense, it's annoying. You notate something and less than a week later, it's gone. I don't remember very well and I found that to be an issue. Why can't the note stay with the item? or why isn't there a hidden place, in the listing form, for data a person wants to know, but not known to the buyer? Basic things-what you paid, how long you've had it, where it came from.
It's being seller friendly. Maybe it's a better question to ask eBay next week.

Seller Notes:“Brand new with tags. Factory sealed.”
No, not those seller notes. The seller notes that the public can't see.
When you click on "print labels and ship" and it brings up a list of items that sold that you need to print labels for and ship. Each item has a "seller note" that will display, if it's utilized. Some people don't use this but I do.

My seller notes that I add when shipping (to find for repeatables) are still there?
Where do yours disappear??

I've never done it from there. I only do it from Active Listings. I didn't even realize we could add it to ended items. So, never mind - Emily Latilla 🙂

I get what you're saying & I agree. Though there is a field like that, the Custom Label field in each listing. I feel you're pain b/c I use Custom Label for what you're referencing & I use Add/Edit Note to notate any special info for finding the item, b/c my husband is usually pulling the sales. So, yeah, just b/c I relisted or Sell Similar on the item, does not mean I want it to go away. It's just from an IT standpoint, I do understand it b/c the item you added the info to, has ended. I'm sure that's why they've chosen to do it that way. I'd like to see it stay, as well.
I'm a little concerned that someone below posted you can see OP's note. I thought those were private notes. Can either you or @dhbookds please do me a favor & look on my recent sale (today) for 2 boxes of Xmas cards & tell me if you see a Seller Note? I can diagnose further once I know the answer. I do find this concerning, as I can see it on OP's ended listing too for the elephant & I sometimes put info in there that I don't want anyone to be able to see. I thought that was the whole point.

Thanks @dhbookds for checking my listings. I didn't see this ^^^ before I posted. Sounds like there are 2 kinds of seller notes. I was not aware of the ones that the public can see. It sounds like that is noted when you use them & I have never used them.
I do use seller notes (the private kind) quite a bit & only see them disappear as I noted previously. Perhaps where/when you add them, make a difference? I've never added them when OP does but mine only disappear upon a listing's end.

Can anyone explain the difference? I added a Seller Note to an Auction Item offering discounted shipping and I don't know if anyone actually saw it. Private notes? Public notes? Other than item condition, I don't know where to add a note that the buyers can see.
