Seller View confusion for of own listing : Watchlist related functionality

Why does ebay let sellers have the ability to add their own listing to the watchlist. From time to time some of my own listings get accidentally added to my watchlist. I do not see the usefulness of this feature, am I missing something?

Also if someone is watching your listing when you go to it, it shows a msg to me "hurry before it's gone, 1 other person is watching this item." This CTA is meaningless to me since it's my own item. That needs to go as well.

some sellers may appreciate being able to see what notices a buyer gets on a watch list.

Frankly, if a seller doesn't want his own items on the list..........would seem fairly easy to keep them off.....or delete them.

Perhaps because they thought some sellers might want to do it.

From time to time some of my own listings get accidentally added to my watchlist.

I have never once had an item appear on my watch list that I did not put there.

IMHO you are offering a solution to a problem that does not exist.

If you so not want your own items on your watchlist, stop putting your own items on your watchlist.

Some of them just happen to get on my watchlist bc the mobile version buttons are wayy easy to fat finger...otherwise it would not happen for sure.

Solution:

When this happens, remove them from your watch list.
