Seller Update: Masks, Hand Sanitizer and Wipes now banned?

I kinda get the masks, but Hand Sanitizer?  Disinfectant Wipes?  Seems a little over the top/big brother.  Those are normal everyday supplies for most people, unlike the masks....

Another post likened it to "Whack A Mole" . ebay keeps whacking them down, but they keep popping back up.  Last night there were 64 listed. I, for entertainment, reported a dozen of the worst offenders.  Refresh the page and there's 68 listings.  One of the worst sellers just keeps putting up new listings one after another.  And I was really surprised at the number of sponsored listings.  All these sellers have to know these items are banned.  I really have to wonder how many sellers were actually suspended / banned from the site for doing this? 

Tonight it was down to 45 at one point under n95 mask search. Some listings when clicked on just give you the "We searched every where" page.

What about the sellers who drove for miles and stood in long lines to buy hand sanitizer, wipes and mask? Are these sellers just suppose to hand over their goods for free now? When free commerce stops we are all in trouble.

Honestly, when I search I don't get anything even remotely close to that.  Would you mind doing the search again and then posting a link so I can try to figure out why you see something so dramatically different than I see.

No one has suggested that.  

It was that behavior by some sellers that is partially responsible for the problem.  People can't find the supplies locally because some wanted to profit off this health crisis.  

It is kind of like if your neighborhood was hit by a Tornado or something.  Hit hard.  Then some neighbors decided they were going to get out there and clean out all the stores or other establishments of all the bottled water within a 10 or 20 mile radius.  Then come back to the hard hit area and start selling it for $5 a bottle or maybe $10.

Price gouging when we have states that have declared a state of emergency is not only ILLEGAL, it is morally wrong.

n95 masks search now has 549. Earlier it was down to 55 or so.........

Why can't they get a handle on this?

mask, n95, surgical, medical, particle and a dozen other descriptive titles will get you different results, but its all the same sellers. The prices seem to be getting crazier as the scammers have figured out how to make their quick sales before being booted.  I wonder if those sales are allowed to go through? 

It's just one new listing after another...... what a drag for ebay.

I got your point and I thank you for that.  I did tag the thread earlier, so maybe tomorrow one of the blues will pop in and give us an update.

As a COPD sufferer we had a box or 2 of the plain masks in the house before this nonsense started.  My youngest comes home frequently from school with "the crud" I make her wear the stupid things anytime she is in the same room with me.  If we run out of the things before Wal-mart gets em restocked and hubby can get em home I'm going end up becoming a hermit in my own home... OR make the kids and hubby wear bandannas if they have to come close to me for something. 

My oldest works with the home bound and elderly when he got sick he wasn't allowed to come see momma. I sent him care packages through Hubby dropping them off at his door to his apartment LOL.  (didn't want hubby to bring it home either)

 I unfortunately taught my children to 'share' just a little to well, and now is not the time to land in the hospital cause the kids 'shared'.

I got a doc appointment in a few weeks, I'm seriously thinking of calling and trying to get them to just call in the meds for my nebulizer so I don't have to go out in public till this things dies down.

I too suffer from respiratory issues, as well as immune deficiency due to conditions and treatments. My doctor called me and canceled my next appointment and has set up times for "telephone" visits. She has also asked me to self-isolate - total isolation. So I called and ordered a months worth of groceries (couldn't get any wipes, hand sanitizer or alcohol for my twice daily injections) and today I went out to the post box to mail in my ballot for the primary election (and to enjoy just a taste of Spring) - as of now I will have no visitors and I will not leave the house for at least a month, possibly longer depending on circumstances. I haven't been exposed, but we have our first cases of "community spread" and she wants me to take no chances. Apparently I am a delicate sort of flower......

I also ordered 500 pounds of steel wool - I figure if I get board enough I can always knit a Volkswagen or something..............................
