Just checked a few posts by eBay stating seller protections due to weather related.
Tracking not uploaded and INR's, etc.
How does one go about getting those late tracking upload defects removed??
I see no seller protections when I look at my metrics

I use seller protection by using Time Away and not depend on Ebay fixing it.
They should announce something soon.

I do 3-5 business days for shipping.
Anything else can be scary during the winter.
'seller protection'...if you have the time to rant to eBay about it. And maybe if enough rants about an issue maybe something might be done to weather related ...but I wouldn't hold my breath with artificial intelligence not understanding a real problem.

It's entirely automatic @redlinear .
Generally what happens is: after the weather event ends eBay applies protections to impacted sellers. Protections are usually applied the month after the storm and will be reflected on your account before the evaluation on the 20th.
The eval yesterday covered transactions through Dec 31. The eval on Feb 20th covers transactions through Jan 31st.
If you're in a region that qualifies for protections from a January weather event, you will see those protections automatically applied by Feb 20th (frequently just a couple days prior).
So yeah, nearly a month to go before it's all wrapped up.

Seller protections? We were under a level 3 snow emergency (illegal to be on the road) for about a week, then we were at level 2 (only drive if you have to) for 10 days. Level 1 (be extra careful) was another 2 or 3 days. The post office did not deliver for 3-4 days. I scheduled a pickup thinking they might be out in the level 3 but I was wrong. My shipment were packaged, labels printed and pickup scheduled on time. I received a notice from the post office that they were unable to pick up. I got defects for these packages. I sent an email to ebay.... no response. I filed appeals... they were denied. I called customer service... she looked up the weather emergencies and confirmed what I was saying. She said her department is not allowed to handle this but they would refer it to the department that handles it. I asked if I could talk to that department and she said that department only communicates by email... back to square one. These transactions were at the end of December with a shipping deadline of January 6. I guess I am supposed to wait until Feb 20 for the defects to come off? Sounds like AI is not too smart.

How about protections for late delivery, as opposed to late shipping/tracking uploads?
I have a package sitting at a Louisiana post office since Monday, and bad weather prevented delivery on Tuesday. It was supposed to be delivered the next business day, but now it's Friday with no more movement or tracking updates. I hate to be a classic Northeasterner complaining about how the South handles snow, but it's back in the 50s in that part of the state today and close to 70 by this weekend. I get that it was a disruptive storm, but why so long to catch up?
*I shipped same day as the order, but the package was already overdue because of weather delays elsewhere along the way. Makes the final delay at the local PO even more annoying.
