I ship the old-fashioned way by taking my items into the post office to get labels and be shipped. My Top Seller designation is being dinged for not having the tracking scanned. I provide the tracking number myself to the buyer, but I cannot make the carrier scan it. It is the fault of the USPS - not me - if it is not scanned. Why do I get penalized for it!!

After having 3 USPS boxes not getting scanned for a week after dropoff, have started using the self serve kiosk to scan the home printed labels. At least the tracking status changes to "accepted" right away. Have also tried to get them inside a semi secure box and not an open cart.

Im haveing the same issue. 95% of tge time i go in and have them scanned. But on friday just before closing they have a lineva mike long. For one item infdrop it in the outside box tgat gets picked up after i keave it. Ive noticed those now nust get dumped into a cart and a truck picks it up. It them gis scross tge state the next day to sit for a day before its unloaded. Sometimes a scan shiws up but even tjough tge item is dropped off the sane dsy its paid for and gets to the buyer on time, im getting marked fir not scanned on time . so fsr my average has not dipped below the number to loose my discount but as soon as it does ill be doing one weekly trip to the po not daily. It will be worse for ebay than it will me as ill just list handeling time 3-5 days

Neither of our po have a self service . you either print the lable at homevwhich shows tracking andbeither get to the po before 4:30 to get it manually scanned or put it in the outside box picked up st 4:35 and loaded on the truck that may not get touched again for 2-3 days at the sorting center

We are in Louisville, KY and have the same issue. We've been top rated for years, but now due to usps not scanning, sometimes for over a week, we are getting dropped in ranking to above standard.

Indeed. You need to get with your postmaster and persuade them to do their job. Scanning and tracking are part of the job description (and procedures); they're not optional.

That simply is NOT possible. ONE issue does NOT create dropping your ranking. You should likely review your Seller Dashboard for more details and a better understanding.
Now happy to help if there is something you don't understand as well as potentially fighting some of the Defects depending on the details of why. On the Dashboard on the right of each section is a little arrow. If you click on that you can get the details of which transactions created the defects.
