Seeking critique (good or bad) on the reply to the negative feedback I recently received.
Funny how when I give advice to others on responding to negative feedback, I'm much more calm and non-emotional than when it happens to me. LOL

The slight snark could have been left out...... though I would still buy a hat from you.
Perhaps the political environment is effecting judgement.

Before you respond to the feedback, take a long long walk to cool off. Then realize that the buyer's shopping experience was damaged beyond repair & accept the feedback.......feedback doesn't matter! 😎✌️🙏😁😉

If I had received that Feedback and the buyer had NOT opened a return request I would.
1 - Not leave a reply.
2 - Not refund.

I recently received a positive comment that said a Hallmark Miniature 1" ornament was very small...is there maybe a full moon out?
Or wait, cats don't care about full moons...lol!

@inhawaii I don't think it's a dealbreaker for a future buyer reading that reply. But yea you already know how to make that better.
Your OP reminded me of a therapist I talked to once. He said he's great at helping people with analyzing and communicating with their spouses, but he for the life of him totally sucks at that when talking to his own wife.

Overall, your feedback is fine. Your response could have been better (or not left) but not that big of a deal.
Don't stress about it. Not a big deal. Go surfing.

I find it really amazing how many people appear to not know about the money back guarantee when they buy something. This sounds like one of those. The buyer got a broken item and probably didn't know she "could do something about it" so she did the only thing she did know: she could leave a negative.
You already know that you can contact her and ask her, since you gave her a refund, to remove the negative. It won't hurt to try.
FWIW, I'm with @slippinjimmy on this, no refund and reply optional, if a neg is left with no claim and no contact. But each situation has to be weighed on its own depending on whether the buyer appears new and/or the dollar amount.

Eh bradda, why you let dat make you go loko? No get nuts! Shoulda jus chill out den reply. But no worries, is all good, but coulda lef out "Why on Earth would you jump to leaving me negative feedback without even contacting me first that there was a problem?" Da rest all you need say brah. Good you neva call em one freekin' haoule.
Back to da kine, Since a negative isn't going to affect your TRS status it's better to either not reply, or write a reply that makes you look good. You could have stuck with "I'm very sorry the item was broken. A full refund has been given".

I would have left out the middle part, it looks like you're berating the buyer. The buyer will probably never see the comment that you were directing to them. Remember that the reply is for future buyers.
My reply would have been: I'm sorry to hear that the item arrived broken. I have sent a full refund because I'll always make it right.
I like to think of a reply as advertising and reassuring future buyers that I'll stand behind my products.
But I'm not an experienced seller and have had only one negative feedback.

Remember this post next time you respond to another seller's complaint about feedback, just sayin.

Do you really want to stir that political pot again?

Chalk it up to a newbie numphy. I see nothing wrong at all with your response, I would have said the same.
