I am puzzeled with the tax collections on ebay sales. what I'm wondering is if the tax is added into the total transaction before the final value fee is collected? Also does Paypal charge me a tiny bit more for the total transaction??
Like it says i'm just a bit confused.
Thanks for your input!!
Dennis

If you are using PayPal for payment processing (most sellers are still using this method) then FVF are NOT charged on Sales Tax.
If you are in Managed Payments FVF WILL be charged on sales tax charged by eBay or by the seller. The overall combined rate of fees has been reduced slightly to compensate.
By my calculations sales with a tax rate 8% and up will have slightly higher fees, sales with a lower tax rate or no taxes at all with have slightly lower fees.
Bottom line, some will pay a bit less, some will pay a bit more and some will see virtually no change.
In any event we are talking pennies here, maybe in the range of 1 - 2 tenths of a percent either way.
One bonus which I think will make my fees lower overall is that it appears that fees will be refunded for seller initiated partial refunds such as a combined shipping discount.
Into your life it will creep
