Search Return Number of Items vs Number of Listings?

I sell Christmas ornaments, mainly in the Home &Garden category.  Search usually returns the number of items when I search for my Christmas ornaments. Today I notice search is retuning the number of listings instead of the number of items.  

Anyone else notice this in the categories you sell in?

Are you referring to keyword search within ebay's listings (I currently see 771 results for your listings for "ornaments")? Or within your Active listings page on your Seller Hub?

I am referring to a keyword search within eBay listings.  Where it shows 101 now, it used to show 1,102.

Interesting -- I am seeing the same thing now.

Multiple variation listings are no longer counted as multiple results when the number is displayed at the top of the search page:

Previously that search would have displayed as 21 results -- one for each variation -- despite only showing one listing.

This is bound to cause confusion as previous explanations on the discussion boards about how the search results are counted now no longer apply.

I've wondered why they didn't do this years ago.......  We've had numerous buyers come to the board thinking "they" aren't showing me but 100 listings, but they say there are 1100".............where are the others? 

May cause some consternation among those who "know"........but will certainly help new buyers not get confused.......
