Scheduled Listings

Hello! I hear that making daily listings will enable the eBay algorithm to help you with overall sales. If I were to use scheduled listings so that there were listings each day, would that be the same or is that regarded as listing a bunch of items on one day? thanks!

Re: Scheduled Listings

I doubt the algorithm "sees" listings until they are active...........so scheduling should work fine.....

Re: Scheduled Listings

When you here such folklore, you must remember that it only works if you believe. If you harbor any doubt, the magic does not work.

Asking about it on this forum could count as doubt.

Re: Scheduled Listings

Only when your listings go live. Having them scheduled, in drafts or in your unsold section doesn't count. So you're good to go with your scheduled listings!

While I don't know whether any algorithms would notice or care, I would say that once you get buyers following your listings here, the fact that you're listing new items each day may boost your number of followers, and general interest in what you're going to be listing today, or tomorrow.

A seller who's inactive until he suddenly dumps a number of new listings all at once might not attract the same long-term attention.

Re: Scheduled Listings

Yes, it's really important to keep the pot boiling. I recall looking at the traffic to my store a while back and finding that over 40% of it was members checking out my store every one to three days, another chunk (can't recall now) was people checking it once a week.

New listings also may bring interest to a seller's older listings, too.

So it's a good idea to have something new in the shop window, so to speak, to attract those eyes. It won't guarantee sales (particularly for little sellers like myself, sales can wildly vary). I do know that my sales go right up in tandem with how much and how often I list.
