Scammer?

Hi everyone and good morning.  I just got paid for a 95.00 handbag.  The buyer has no feedback and no purchase history.  I google earthed her location and then I put her location into Zillow and the two "houses" don't match.  I don't want to get scammed so I decided to cancel the shipping label for today .  The package is going to Easton, MD.  Thoughts?  Thanks, Diane (fudgelay01)

And besides, 2...1...0... I think we are in agreement. The meaning of what I was saying is that sellers who want to keep selling here should be careful of what circumstances they use to cancel sales.

Sure... Sellers cancel sales all the time. But, what buyer, making a legitimate purchase will be reasonable if they are denied a purchase, because, say, a seller doesn't like selling to someone living in a mobile home... Because they have an irrational belief for one reason or another?

I think most people understand what i was saying.

Question....you have some sales under your belt, do you investigate all of them before shipping or just the ones with 0 feedback?

I'll tell a little story.  I have a cousin who's daughter collects Polly Pocket playsets.  She especially likes the vintage ones.  And where can you find those?  Right here.  eBay never dawned on her, she had never purchased anything here before.  So I walked her through how to search, buy, etc.  She was excited to find one that her daughter didn't have.  So she bought it.  Boom an hour later, her order was cancelled.  The seller may have done PI work on her address just as you did.  Thing is, she lives in an apartment above a restaurant, so if you were to check it out, it doesn't look like a residence at all.  She took the time to find what she wanted, only to have it cancelled.  I tried to convince her to just find another seller, but she was frustrated enough to say she will never shop on eBay again.
If you do decide to not go through with the sale, just don't use "problem with buyer's address", just because you checked out their address and got cold feet.  I have no idea if your buyer is legit or not, neither do you.  But new buyers happen all the time....and they found your item.

Seldom to people try to 'scam' for $95 handbags- they want $5000 handbags

As already stated by many- just because they are a 0 and new means nothing. If they paid- you ship.

Also...

1.) Google Earth is full of errors

2.) Check the address on Zillow- more info

3.) Check the address on the USPS website (input it like you are using it to ship something- if it 'takes' it's real)

Scammer?

A lot of those photos are not up to date.

I can look up my address and it shows a vehicle in my driveway I haven't owned for about 10 years.

Have A Great Day.

I seldom check addresses or people related to a sale but on occasion will do so if something seems odd. A buyer not having any purchase history and 0 feedback is not a major red flag to me especially feedback since that seems to be a dying practice these days. Also a lot of buyers simply use a guest account to make one time purchases and never return.

I pay more attention to the buyers utilizing freight forwarders than anything else. As for the pictures of the house not matching it's not unusual for that to happen and it depends on when the images were taken. My neighbors house images on google do not match the pictures on Zillow because the old single story ranch style house was completely torn down and a new two story behemoth built in it's place. A LOT of single story ranch houses in my area have built up and are now 2 story with garages, decks, porches and other additions that make the house totally unrecognizable from what it once was.

Example: This is my neighbors house, same address, first picture was original, second picture was the same address 11 months later.

Perfect illustration to what I was saying here, and in another post ( where the seller wanted to cancel because there was a restaurant at the location).

As long as the buyer paid and provided an address, if the seller decides to cancel and ends up being wrong, it will be that seller that will be viewed as the " scammer".

Sellers have valid reasons to cancel, so if you are going to cancel a transaction, be sure you are prepared to receive sanctions if you are wrong, and didn't have to be.

Scammer?

I also just recently sold a $95 purse to a buyer with 0% feedback history and who created the account the same day she bought it. As it stands I have the money, she has the purse, and I'm not terribly concerned it'll go south from here. I've had many transactions like this with no problem. People will create an account just to buy the item they want if you're the one who has it.

You have some nice stuff by the way😍
