I think almost every seller has encountered scammers - it's good to know the policies, learn when to fight and when not to, and how to fight when you have a shot at winning. Sometimes the best you can do is minimize your losses. We don't agree with all of eBay policies, especially regarding returns/scammers, but we know the policies and choose to sell here so we work within the system as best we can.

The main point of this is to Know your e̶n̶e̶m̶y̶ buyer. Now there are a lot of red flags when you find a potential scammer. Here are some common ones:
Now you need to use absolute discretion when you are selling here, and there is always a risk you can be scammed. And if there is ever something that seems off or you are not sure about, we are here to help you out, we are a community and family after all 🙂

A couple of points to think about. Almost EVERYONE on Ebay that has to give a return says they where scammed. Also Ebay makes EVERYONE have to accept a return. Even though you may think otherwise, having to give a return is not a scam, it is what almost every company in the world does.

Totally agree there are legitimate returns when you accept and receive back exactly what you originally sent the buyer for whatever reason they returned it. Scams are when you get back empty boxes, a box of rocks, items where the user has removed parts or part of the original shipment. AKA something other than what you originally sent the buyer.
And then there are the address scam's, gift card scams, etc.
