Hello all,
I am hoping someone can help. For some background, I sell PlayStation Plus codes on eBay in which we ask for verification for these purchases due to a lot of scamming on eBay. I recently had a problem with a dispute from a buyer. I have a total of 29 transactions with this buyer in which a few of them are being disputed. With that being said, we have his ID with his FACE in it, his ID itself, and a picture of his discover card. Of course, eBay has now made it impossible to upload any of this documentation along with any notes from me so the bank would now make a decision with half of the information missing. How would I go about this to make sure that I win the disputes? I have already contacted eBay which as usual are no help. I have contacted Discover which they said they are not able to help. I figured that I could call Discover to ask them about this dispute, but since eBay is the actual merchant then I wouldn't be able to do anything.
As you guys may be able to see from my feedback I do send the codes and they all work. It's unfortunate that someone would scam in this way. I am working on doing everything in my power to make sure the buyer doesn't successfully scam me.

"You will receive your PSN code updated in the tracking portion of your purchase within 24 hours."
Interesting way to deliver it I think; still will not show delivery so any one can scam you.....

This is why we ask for verification to avoid scammers.

I didn't think you could actually sell any of that stuff, so goes to show how much I know LOL

I thought that type of thing was not allowed to be sold here. Are these codes something you actually own outright and have the legal rights to sell?

eBay does not provide seller protection for digitally delivered goods.
Electronically delivered items policy

I thought the same - you must be a registered distributor for Sony, but apparently not.

eBay is not going to help you! I've sold on here for 10 years & had perfect feed back & a host of followers - I recently had a girl destroy my item & lie about reason for return. Of course eBay ripped me off for over $70 & gave her all monies back. It's a buyer's market - you will never get any support from eBay! They (eBay) lied to me themselves. Wish you all the luck in the world but sorry to say eBay DOES NOT SUPPORT SELLERS!

@nolimitgamingHow did you get his personal info, picture, credit card, etc? And why would you ask for it? It's even weirder if they just sent all that personal info to you. One of the benefits of buying on a platform like ebay is that you don't have to provide all your personal info to each seller. Also, like others here, I thought selling digital goods was prohibited.
You've obviously been doing well. All sellers get stung by buyers at some point. All they have to do is claim an INAD. So you've been really lucky so far since I don't see how you can prove an item was delivered or not.

You first.
Send me your personal information to verify your identity and proof that you are an Sony authorized seller of playstation codes. Provide proof that you are authorized by ebay to do the same.
OK? No? Gee, why not?

It's to bad you don't have the one thing that might help, tracking that shows the item was delivered.

If you're selling digital codes and you want protection, ship a copy/photocopy of the code to the buyer via USPS Fist Class mail with delivery confirmation. Build the shipping costs into the item price. It's the only way you'll have protection from INR and Unauthorized Chargeback disputes because at that point you can show proof of delivery.
As with any sale, your protection against NAD disputes/chargebacks is very limited.
My understanding though was that eBay made it so sellers could not sell digital / non-tangible items unless in the classifieds sections. Rules like this change all the time but regardless, how are your metrics not getting hammered in the "uploaded tracking" section?

Good luck ebay is going to take the money from your accout plus a $20.00 fee they will give the scammer full unquestioned refund and let them keep the item. Isnt ebay great, This is how ebay works now cheerleaders and employees will tell you its your fault and not to sell things you cant afford to have stolen from you but this is not your issue it is the way ebay conducts business. sorry it happened to you.

Good suggestion on the mailing of the codes and while that will protect you from the INR's it will do nothing to protect you from the chargebacks.

It will protect you against unauthorized use chargebacks (i.e. the stolen credit card chargeback) as the protection requires proof of shipment (PayPal) or proof of delivery (eBay Managed Payments).
No protection against Not as Described disputes or chargebacks though.
Very high risk / low reward item to be selling on eBay, even if it is authorized to be sold.
