Beware all sellers. EBay can suspend your account at any time and not have to give an explanation. I made my first successful sale and they suspended my account so I could not enter my bank info and get paid. I talked to six reps about it and they could not tell that the account was suspended so we wasted hours of time opening new checking accounts to try and get it to work.
When a manager connected me to an accounts person, they told me that I was suspended and that according to the Ebay contract, did not have to tell me why! I tried twice with accounts and was treated rudely both times.
Now, it has been two months, I have not been paid for what I sold (over $1k) and have no idea if or when I will get paid. Probably have to go to small claims court.
This looks like a scam to hold onto money for making interest.

Ah the old ebay suspending your account for no reason and holding on to your funds scam.
I have heard about that scam before.

Go look in MY EBAY for old messagse from Ebay. Look under MESSAGES. Ebay does NOT suspend anyone for no reason. There is always a reason. Did you provide ebay with any ID or documents that they wanted? Why didn't you open a bank account BEFORE you sold something? You needed to open an account and have it verified BEFORE you sold something. Did you sell something very expensive and ebay asked for a receipt?
You need to fix your issues first. Most likely he buyer did not pay so he/she did not lose any money.
Try contacting Ebay on Facebook but first LOOK for those messages and send in the documents that ebay needs because that is the what Ebay on Facebook is going to ask you too. When you go to Facebook, you find Ebay and then click MESSAGE. Whatever you write will be completely private. None of your friends or family will know that you have reached out to Ebay on Facebook. You will need to say the truth if you want their help. Goodluck.

Well at this point eBay does not seem to interested in working with you to solve the problem but there may be more to this story than just the bank account. Have you also provided your SSN, photo ID..... and all the other required information? If you have done everything that is required and eBay cannot pay you find another avenue
You don't have much to loose at the moment I am assuming the buyer has their item. Contact the Attorney General for California since that is where you reside, file a better business bureau report, file a cyber crimes report with the FBI and for $1K I would contact a lawyer. I wish you luck in recovering your funds.

New seller selling high dollar items will raise red flags every time. Did eBay ask you to provide a receipt for that pre owned keyboard? Not only that, you used a stock photo which is another red flag. Did you set up an account to be paid and go thru all the requirements it takes to sell here on Ebay? The rules are very clear and in writing. Its up to you to read and understand them. Lots of port and train robberies going on in your area of the US, worse than ever. Ebay is just trying to protect their buyers.
Best of luck with future career opportunities.

Don't sell any longer, but have to ask this: Aren't you supposed to have your bank information all set up BEFORE you start selling on eBay?

You'd sure think so. But I've read here more than once of newbies listing and selling without it being done.

Now that I give it some thought, you are absolutely right. It's the "I sold something but eBay is telling me there's no place for my payment to go" story.

was just going to say the same!

You needed to get your bank account successfully verified to Ebay BEFORE you started selling.
You are now in a bad place. Payment Account Purgatory which is not a great place.
Keep on trying.

I don't understand the rationale behind ebay allowing users to set up a selling account and list items without requiring they set up all the relevant details/verifications first.
We're long past the days when you could just jump onto an online site enter a few details and an email and start selling with gay abandon.

You would think Ebay wouldn't let them start listing until they were set up to start accepting payments, but apparently, they don't think so.

You'll get the money, but it'll be a little while.
The money will be sent to your states unclaimed property and you can get it from them.

You are correct, but the process will take months and months.

Why would EBAY need an account before I sold something? They need to get paid first so that is on the Buyer, not me. Anyway, good advice about facebook, thanks.
