Scam deletes feedback

Hello

First time writing here.I bought two products from a user that had 1000 positive points with 99%. Upon receiving the products they came with defect and were imitation (Pandora .... easy to recognize imitation). I returned the products spending my money. I left a negative point telling my bad experience...few days later I can not see my evaluation. I wrote to Ebay and it tells me that maybe it was removed by the Ebay policies. how to avoid the problem if Ebay erases the negative comments .... that disappointment.

The thing is, the neg has been removed, rightly or wrongly, it makes no difference, ebay will not put the neg back no matter what you think or say.

I did notice though that a buyer left a neutral saying the Pandora were not authentic, and the seller didn't reply to deny it.

Ebay answered me.

While I think I understand why Ebay removed the FB that you posted due to your previous post, I don't understand this email you received from a Ebay CSR.  I'm tagging this post so that one of the board CSRs can pop in and explain further.  I find what I highlighted above in the email you received rather interesting and something I've never heard or read before.

I don't know.  Are sellers eval'd under different rules in Chile?

I don’t know. I should of said if that matters, instead of if that helps.

While feedback has some effect on the few buyers who know how to use it, eBay pays no attention to feedback when assessing seller accounts.

EBay does pay attention to Disputes and to reports that counterfeits are being sold on the site.

If it has been less than 30 days since you received the fake bead, you can open a Dispute in the Resolution Centre at the bottom of this page and get your money back. You will need the tracking number on the returned bead to win.

If it has been less than 180 days since you paid for the fake bead, you can open a Dispute in Paypal's  Resolution Centre at the top of your PP account page under Tools and get your money back. You will need the tracking number on the returned bead to win.

Hi @mam98031 - thanks for the tag!

The usual disclaimer about 'not discussing account specific details' here, but I can give some context in general:

If a seller offered free returns and accepted the return, provided a label and a refund then the transactions would be protected from feedback

This would include situations where a label was provided, even if the buyer didn't use the label and chose to ship it back directly.

The email that @luis_reca received seems unusual in its wording, so I'm going to have that reviewed for coaching opportunities. However, I think the intention may have been to talk about account performance metrics like "Service Metrics". Feedback would have no bearing on that, but open returns for Not as Described reasons would (whether or not the seller offered free returns). However, due to the confusing wording, it would be easy to misunderstand.

I hope that helps clear things up!

Tyler,
eBay

FB is only removed if it breaches one or more of the Ebay rules on FB.  Now often times the buyer doesn't agree with Ebay for doing this, but that is not part of the process.  Ebay does not now nor have they ever sought the approval of the buyer before removing FB.  It is Ebay's opinion that matters in such cases.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is not true and should not be stated here as a facteBay removes valid Negative Feedback that does not violate anything in the Feedback Policy.  It appears to happen often and for High Volume or Sponsored Sellers (from what I see reported here and my experience).

I had this happen 3 times recently for the same seller, and was told each time by Concierge Customer Support that my Feedback was 100% valid, did not violate any of eBay's Feedback Policies, and should not have been removed.  The first time my Feedback was restored after I called Customer Support.  They indicated that this was done in error by an eBay Agent and they would be coached.  Shortly after my Negative Feedback was restored the Seller tried to offer me money to change my Feedback to Neutral (which is a form of Feedback extortion, per Customer Support).  Before I even had a chance to reply to the Seller, the Feedback was removed!  I was assured each time I left valid Negative Feedback that it was removed in error, should not have been removed and would not happen again, but each time the Negative Feedback was removed.  I have screenshots of all of the Feedback left, restored, and other supporting information.  I also received a $125 coupon from eBay as an apology, but I would rather have all of the Negative Feedback restored to protect the eBay Community.

So to conclude a fact ..... eBay does remove Negative Feedback in violation of it's own Feedback Policy.

And the opinions of inexperienced and improperly trained Customer Support Agents are not eBay's opinion, but clearly show eBay doesn't know how to train it's Customer Support staff.

Or maybe this is eBay's opinion, and eBay is endorsing violating their own Feedback and Trust & Safety Polices to keep the Positive Feedback Percentage high for High Volume Sellers?   More sales more fees.

Dear,

However...He sent me a not original product...I waste time...also I paid with my money to return it...and I can't leave a negative feedback.....I think is wrong.

A next buyer can avoid the same situation if read my experience .......to be honest is first time that I feel Ebay on the other side.....buying more than 10 years on the site.

Its a disappointment...I will not buy again so relaxed.

Welcome back.  I hope your trip to Hawaii was filled with fun and relaxation!

I have no idea what your agenda is for trying to engage me on this subject again.  Prior to your vaca your post to me on this subject were harsh and you were tired of having any kind of discussion with me.  I have been intentionally leaving you alone so as not to stir up some unnecessary conflict on the threads.  So why is it that you feel the need to comment to me on something you are full aware of my opinions on the subject?

I understand that you are and have been upset by the FB that you posted against one seller that got removed.  As has been stated numerous times to you, there are more factors than what the buyer literally says in the FB left than can cause the FB to be removed.

Some of those reasons, but not limited to are:

1.  Something stated in the FB that violates policy.

2. Something stated in emails between trading partners that shows an issue with FB or extortion.

3. Abuse of the FB system.  Frequent negs, going after a competitor, etc.

But I know you don't believe me, that has been clear.  I take no issue with that.  But just because you feel or another buyer feels that the FB they left was "valid" does not mean it didn't breach one of the rules of conduct on the site.

Any further issues with understanding this subject I think is better addressed to Ebay or the CSRs and I have no confidence at all that anything I say will make any difference for you.

I believe it was Trinton that initially addressed this issue for you on a different thread.

Just speaking for myself.  I am very sorry that you had an issue with your purchase.  I really do understand that you have every right to be upset by how your transaction went.

But please try to understand that if buyer's were allowed to leave whatever comment they were to feel was appropriate for a transaction without rules to govern this we would have a hot mess on the site.

Rules are just for sellers.  They are for buyers too.  Sellers have very strict rules on how and what they can say on a buyer's feedback.  The rules for buyers aren't as strict, but there still are some rules.  If you don't abide by those rules, then yes FB can be removed.

I do respect that this still leaves you feeling badly about your transaction.  And I understand it.  It is very frustrating when a transaction does not go off as we want it too.  Extra work and disappointment can take a tole.   And I hope that nothing like this ever happens again when you purchase on Ebay.

That really isn't accurate.  I don't know that "damage" is the right word, but a buyer certainly experiences frustration, waste of time, etc.  when they don't get what they expect to get.

No one is dismissing what your experience was on this transaction.  You have good reason to be upset by it.  I'm unsure why you expect the seller to have rules to abide by [leaving FB for buyers, accepting the return and refunding you etc.] but you should be able to say whatever you want on the FB and it should stand, irregardless of any rule or rules.
