A 0 feedback buyer from russia buys a ps4 from me, opens a return case and says the item is counterfeit. He escalates it types up something in word that says the item is counterfeit and puts a sony logo on it and ebay finds in his favor and lets him keep the item.
Do I have any rights here? The item was official, I have proof of purchase. ebay didn't even make him return the item and the counterfeit letter sent to me didn't even look official.

When he opened up the return case for SNAD, did you immediately click return for refund?

Since Russia is the #1 country for scams on electronics, you should have excluded Russia for shipping...

Did you decline the buyer's return request? Or respond at all?

You still would have been required to provide money for shipping it back.

yes i'm aware of that and told him to tell me the price, but the case was escalated and refunded.

Another case of ebay jumping the gun and refunding.
I agree with poster above and this is why I do not sell internationally anymore. You cannot send a postage label to someone outside the US. So you are forced to send money for postage. And some buyers abuse it by taking the money and not sending the item back.
You could call ebay and see what they say but they will probably tell you they cannot reverse the decision.
In the future, imo, sell high scam items US only.

Yikes. You needed to send the buyer funds through PayPal, as a goods and services payment and then give eBay the transaction ID. Since you didn’t, the buyer asked eBay to step in. They (eBay) should have contacted you though and given you something like 5 days to pay for return shipping—I assume that didn’t happen?

This was discussed in another thread and I thought posters were saying you cannot send it that way.

how am I supposed to send funds when I don't even know what the amount is supposed to be? The buyer did not say anything on what the return cost would be, just said it was counterfeit and escalated the case. No they did not give me time or tell me the amount to refund for the label. They said the buyer showed proof of counterfeit and found in his favor.

Who said it couldn't be done this way ? I read a thread with this being suggested. I didn't see where it was said it couldn't be done. It's the safest way to send the money to insure it's not just used as a partial refund

Can you bring up the original thread where it was addressed.
I distinctly remember posters disagreeing with that tactic.
