Same item, multiple scam purchases, all different user IDS and address, but all zero feedback

We have had 5 orders in a month of the same pillow. All from people with zero feedback. As soon as it delivers, they open a return request with some bogus reason to get a free return label. Then they return an empty envelope. So far, Ebay has backed us because we have photo proof of the empty envelope - but knowing Ebay that won't last forever.

I would think it was the same person, but the mailing addresses are all over the country. However it is always the same item. We have 2 more orders that were the same M.O. from last week, and wouldn't you know it- like clockwork- they delivered yesterday and both have opened a return request today.

Is there some new scam algorithm that Ebay is being hacked by, since it is ALWAYS the exact same item?

I just don't trust that Ebay will stick by us for much longer on this. We used to be able to turn off zero feedback buyers but not anymore.

Ebay can tell if it is the same buyer.  Contact Ebay and explain all this to them.  They can get you to Trust & Safety to investigate the accounts.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

It sounds like someone is drop shipping your pillow, doing a false return & getting a full refund, thus making 100% profit. Sorry this is happening to you!

Stop selling the item for now. Put it back up in a few months, chances are the scammer will have moved on to something else.

And as @ladybugmls if you are being targeted by someone dropshipping (called retail arbitrage here) that is against eBay's policies.

I suggest that you contact Customer Service and Report the reseller.

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.

BTW - you have sold several pillows but they are various types at various prices.

I accept that this has been a problem, but when you contact Customer Service, be accurate.

All the problems have been pillows, but they don't seem to be the same pillow design.

No - in this case it is the exact same pillow, exact same listing - multiple quantities.
