Hi, Here in New Jersey things seem to go up & down. We may have a week to ten days or so of nice sales & then the tide goes out & we will be "High & Dry" for a bit. Just the normal ebb & flow of retail - We try not to stress over it or figure it out. It is what it is. Good Luck & Happy Selling!!!

Im newly listing after a decade... LOL Ive had 8 sales so far, more than I was expecting so I cannot complain.
I have so much more to list and cant get stuff up fast enough! Haha.
I dont really have 'high demand' items except maybe some of my mason jars. Have some stock left from pre covid before the jar shortage. Jars still have not bounced back fully to pre covid stock.

I also have an envy problem with a friend who sells on Amazon FBA. She is more successful in her area scouting books and ships most of them off and lets the warehouse ship them versus spending hours doing the mail. She also works really hard. I am trying to work less these days. My struggle is with feeling NOT SUCCESSFUL for my own workload. But if I really embraced that I would go out and work for a grocery store. I'd rather be independent and (these days) more of a hobbyist seller.

'scouting books...is that boys scouts and girl guides?
That's always been a 'hot' item just like postage stamps.

Plodding along, but I'm always plodding along.
It's a struggle to find inventory so I tend to sell out all the in-demand stuff, then it gets slow. Right now is Transitional for clothing. I sell on a couple of sites.
Sales are always up and down - people have all kinds of reasons, they may all be right in some respects, or maybe not. It does pay to look around oneself, but it also pays to pay attention to what one is selling - I can't sell what I sold five years ago - the landscape is always changing.

Scouting inventory just mean going here there and everywhere trying to find and buy it.

I am in a similar situation. As helpful people have told me I need to work harder on listing inventory that has been cluttering up the place for way too long. For the most part the better stuff is gone. I've hauled away some stuff I've given up on, with more to do. I do acquire fresh books but not nearly as much as in the recent past. It can be hard to believe that anyone will want stuff I can't get fired up about, myself. I run fewer auctions because of this issue and that has cut into my income.

The harder I work it, the more sales I have.
Same here - I have to keep listing new inventory. As long as I keep the supply up, the demand continues (well, I have to have good stuff, too).

I had more sales when I was on both Amazon and Ebay but the workload was so stressful. Occasionally my ebay sales are increased enough to make up for losing Amazon but other times not. Maybe I could rachet up the hours I spend listing but except for the regret of lesser income life is better now that I take time to do other things, actually "have a life" versus working all the time like before. I think it may make more sense to do this work as part of a partnership.

Yep, I see that with your selling ID.
