Sales

How many of you out there are experiencing very slow sales this year I sure am?

Re: Sales

What is your idea of slow? Looking at your sold history you've had 166 sales in 90 days. That seems pretty good to me.

Re: Sales

My sales are up and down like the stock market...No kidding!

Picked up a ton of International Sales before the tariffs were suppose to kick in and then they didn't kick in...LOL

My base of 25+ % 'repeat buyers' help me plus the 'free domestic shipping' helps.

I think when potential buyers see the 'free' word they buy more than one item sometimes.

For me, it's not unusual for my 'repeat buyers' to make a purchase every third day...LOL

Gotta have 'repeat buyers' in this time frame of this year.

And selling like items in the similar category helps.

Consumer sentiment is a funny thing.  You’d think that with all the uncertainty in the economy right now, things would be slow.  But I too have had the best year so far in nearly 26 years of selling here.

I think that a lot of Americans are financially irresponsible, but there is at least an equal number who know how to manage their money, and have ample disposable income.

Re: Sales

I struggle with envying your outfit's success.  Our businesses could hardly be more different though.  Keep powering on!

Re: Sales

Its all relative of course. However, for 5500+ listings, I too would expect more sales than 1-2 per day. Have you tried refreshing your listings? Sales? Coupons?

Re: Sales

Yeah, very different setups!  Most of the people on these boards are one person operations (presumably yourself included, I think I remember you talking about your approach), while I'm just one of the employees in a team of I think 10 people now.  We're definitely atypical among the frequent users of these boards!  I wish you the best in your eBay endeavors!

Re: Sales

Sounds like customers want to buy the things you're selling.

My sales have been remarkably consistent for the past 10 years across all six selling accounts. My total annual sales are always within 5% of the previous year, and the average over those years has stayed flat.

Sometimes.

Sometimes not.

I apply my "nobody wants to buy what I am selling" theory to myself when my sales are slow.

Re: Sales

We have had a much better selling year so far.  The annual spring slowdown is on, but still selling...

It is important to pay attention to the world around us.  Often you can find your answers there.

We have weather event notices by Ebay almost weekly in some part of the USA.  Large sections of the country.  We now have our economy experiencing things most have never dealt with before as adults.

Maybe you want to rethink some of your shipping? Only looking at your clothing, it’s rare someone will pay the $15.85 you charge for a pair of “not in demand” jeans, even if you state, it’s priority mail. IMO … If you want to “pad” something, make it your item, not the shipping cost for your buyers.

As a denim seller, I can ship from east to west coast, AK, HI, PR, Guam, Rural and Non-Rural areas, for between $6.90 - $9.20 99.999% of the time.
