EVERYONE experiences this.....

at one time or another.

The ebb/flo of internet sales.

I pay myself weekly (profits after taxes/fees/shipping etc.) so the last 3 weeks looked like

3 weeks ago, 60% of the 'average'

2 weeks ago, 50% of the 'average'

Last week- 3rd HIGHEST week of the year (250% increase of the previous week)

go figure.....

There are about 6 million US eBay sellers

2 million will tell you sales are up

2 million will tell you sales are down

2 million will tell you sales are steady

3 million sellers will not be entirely truthful

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep

Sales

As a seller of collectibles , B&M for 30 years , online for 25, I have learned that my slowest months are going to be November and December, and my strongest January to March.

We did sell a lot of gift certificates in the shop during those holiday months.

I am currently glad to have poor sales since Canada Post is on strike and mailing is impossible.

So I stopped listing. All my new stock is Drafts, ready for the arbitrator to end the strike.

Last weekend was normal (strike called on Friday) but nothing since.

I may close my listings though, particularly the PLs since they draw the most Views, although not the most sales.

I see you sold the following in the last 90 days:

2 in November

7 in October

19 in September

You have been a member since February of 2011.  When did you start selling?  Have you kept track of your sales on any kind of a regular basis likely Weekly or Monthly so you can see trends emerge with selling?

Hi @bargainjewelryandmore took a look at your listings to see if anything jumped out that could explain lower sales. But your jewelry is fantastic and the quality of your listings is just exemplary. Wow!

You just need to get them both in front of buyers and they’ll sell themselves.

Part of the issue is that you are dealing with a crowded category with thousands of other jewelry sellers. Have you tried using social media to show off your goods and redirect traffic back to your eBay listings? That is not my area, but have heard positive things from fellow sellers who do it.

Another suggestion is to use SEO (search engine  optimization) to improve the liklihood of your listings being picked up by Bing, Google etc. This increases organic traffic to one’s items. More traffic, more sales.

Improving Keywords used by shoppers in Item Specifics and titles is a good tip for SEO. An example would be to add the keywords “victorian style lavalier necklace” to listings showing the longer length chains with pendant detail. When the item is unbranded it can be tough to draw in the shoppers in other creative ways.

Another seo practice is to avoid writing entire words in capital letters,  or avoid using punctuation and other markers between words. These practices can lower one’s listing ranking in search results. So Little changes can have dramatic results.  Just study the SEO tips given by eBay for a good start on this project should you find it useful.

Good luck with your sales  in the coming weeks. With a little tweaking i think you can set these slow days behind you. You already have so much going for you!

Now and again all sellers will experience this.  All 18+ million of us can't possibly experience the same amount of sales.  It will always fluctuate.

It's always a little creepy when someone looks into someones account and tells THEM what they did.  I don't think I've ever done that, not once.

@movieman630   and @mr_lincoln

It's important to remember that Sold Items is not 100% correct.  It does not show when a buyer buys multiple items, it will only show one from the multiple order.  Same with Variation listings.  If a buyer buys a few different items from the Variation listing, it will only show as if one item was sold

Congrats on your top rated plus listings.

You are already 5 miles ahead of everyone else, in ways that you probably have not even considered.

As others have noted, a slowdown this time of year is not wholly unexpected.

But at least you are getting sales... some here report no sales whatsoever.  regards
