Good morning, is anybody else noticing sales are really erratic lately, it has been over the course of the last month. We know there were changes made mid march to now, but is it just us, or are any others noticing a drop in sales and views? This should be a busy time for us, but no such luck.

@dnasilver wrote:"eminent"? Who was the person who stated that? The network is irrelevant. We just got back from a lengthy vacation (almost 8 weeks) and saw packed hotels, restaurants, and people buying items in stores. There have been a handful of economists that have been stating a recession is right around the corner for the past 20 plus years.
I had some friends visiting a couple of weeks ago... we decided we wanted to go out for dinner and picked a fairly upscale restaurant that we'd been to before. We got there and were informed it would be over an hour's wait for a table because it was so crowded. We tried another fairly pricey restaurant down the street, same thing. We ended up going back to the hotel my friends were staying in and just eating at the hotel restaurant/bar there.

Post pandemic market, slow economy, rising gas prices, tax season, saturated market., eBay. Take your pick. Maybe one of these. Maybe not.

After a terrible January (13 sales vs 45 previous Jan)... Feb was worse and ended with 12 straight days of NO sales. March was the same when suddenly there was a spurt of activity with 7 sales in 3-4 days and I thought 'Finally back to normal." My mistake. ANOTHER 12 straight days with no sales. April looks like my worst month in 20+ years of Ebay. So far this month (as of 4/14) only small 3 sales. Views are almost non-existent. Luckily I don't do this for a living... or I'd be at the food bank. I've stopped picking up things for Ebay... it's just not enjoyable any more.

Sales are always erratic here. This comes up probably once every other day, if not more often, for the last ?15-20 years I've been here (yeah, been here too long).

Yes.
Some of it is due to Ebay problems.
Some of it is due to the economic problems that are ongoing and other external factors.
Some of it is probably what you are selling in one or more ways.

Thank you for all the replies, and I agree with most. The economy has a part in the lack of sales, but we were doing great up until the end of march, when ebay implemented changes, then it has been terrible. We called a week and a half ago, sales were great for 3 days, then back to little or nothing. Does ebay have the power to turn my site on for 3 days then off again? Sure seems so, we're up for renewal end of April, we have been on here since 1998, shame to quit, but makes no sense if ebay is going to hide us. Have a great day!!!!!

I also have had 00000$ sales. Last month my sales were over $500. The month before over $1,200. I have had 2 sales so far in May. That is ridicules for me. I am a top seller. What the is going one? I get all kids of answers from ebay. None if which makes any sense.

Yep, the evidence that we DO get "turned off" keeps piling in, and then come the cheerleaders to convince us we're crazy, or "it's the economy. " Predictable as the rising sun.

It's the most common phrase around our house and amongst our community if selling friends lol. "eBay just turned me on". , Or eBay had turned me off. It happens all the time. 0 sales fir days then bam- you have 15 sales in half an hour..... Then nothing again. Don't forget, if you sell an amazing amount in one day, you will be shut off again the following day. It's just so non organic and completely manufactured. I'm not even saying that they do it on purpose. Might be just bad programming and terrible AI.
All anyone wants is to compete on a fair platform and have eBay show buyers relevant search results and stop screwing up everything.
The statistics show that this is not normal retail business. It's an ebay problem. It's a glitch. Is bad programming. Intentional or not..... eBay search hides the most relevant listings from the buyer and shows unrelated PL instead, just muddying up the experience. Quality over quality.

I totally agree, in the last few months my sales are a fraction of what they used to be last month was over 50% down on just views and click throughs, thet the eBay report states they are doing really well, do they mean their money making or selling and helping sellors. seems we just get charged more for less sales. When was the last time anybody saw an advert for eBay, anybody had a support person who understood your issue and helped you, anybody received any usefull help to questions? It has become just a cash cow and blow the people who use it.
It's funny how he pandemic etc get the blame yet sales dropped and keep dropping after the last update. My sales once stead are now a small fraction of what they once were.
I go back to the lack of help and answers. I have tried to discuss or suggest eBay adds "dammaged in post" as a reason for refund, as we all know this has got worse over the last few years no matter how carefull we wrap, box and send, yet no one reply to me neumerouns emails and messages.
eBay you cut of the mouth that feeds your cash cow and soon it will die. Amazon are increasing thier links for selling and new place are gnawing itno your marker.
HELP YOUR SELLORS.

Well... Things were going as slowly in May as they've been going all year. Seven sales as of May 18th with one sale in the past 8 days. Then... suddenly... 4 sales on May 19th. Was the drought finally over? With approx 400 auctions ending over the weekend and about 70 (sell similar) fixed, I was expecting my first good weekend of the year. Didn't happen. Only sold one additional item. I've switched quite a few over to "fixed" and the number of Views seems to be improving. The sudden one-day spurt of activity leads me to believe that perhaps we are turned on-and-off willie-nillie and we better have our ads up when "our day" rolls around.

Erratic is normal for me.
Some days I have 2 sales.
Some days I have 5 sales.
Some days I have 0 sales.
Today I had 7 sales.

Still erratic, have got some offers, which i would lose money if i accepted. Can't buy if we can't sell, so there's that.
