I might go days without a sale, then within an hour or two may sell several items, then it dries up again for several days. Thoughts?

I call this "Waves", and believe your Items are shown for a short time then hidden at other times. (Throttled) When an eBay member pays 30 cents to list an Item and it's not shown to others, they were ripped off of 30 cents, X this by hundreds of thousands of members and you have Grand Thief. It is what it is. Good Luck to you.

Having been in sales as a career for 41 years never really found that sales were level from day to day, week to week or month to month or etc. but more like a yo-yo - lots of ups and downs. eBay sales are no different.

Why is the mall so crowded one day that you have to drive in circles to find a parking space.
And on another day you can get the front row.
Sales have always been like this - so nothing new.
And with ebays latest freebies, I am sure listings are even harder to find.

I'm not a stat major...but...there's a fair number of people on here reporting what appears to be ABNORMAL fluctuations in sales.
Which, based on my twenty years on eBay, is normal.
The ones who find the Boards to complain, are the ones with problems.
The ones who are busy filling orders, don't complain.
I usually suggest that the poster compare this week and month with the week and month the previous year and the year before that.
Usually it turns out that October (or June or March) is normally slow -- they just forgot.
I notice one of the posters who is upset actually has 30% more FB (for what that's worth) in the past 30 days than he had on average each month this year.
And the OP, whose FB is down by 2/3, is selling golf clubs in late fall going into winter , after the snowbird states were hit by hurricanes.

Glassware such as yours stopped selling (or at least slowed way down), about 7 years ago now. Has nothing to do with your items hidden, we see them. Yes, ups and downs have been happening since the beginning of time. Why people think every day there should be buyers and their items should fly off the shelves is beyond me. It's all about supply, demand and asking price.

Sorry, I'm not going for your response. I watch 100 Items same as mine and they are selling at a HIGHER PRICE then mine with higher shipping. I sell at Flea Market prices to overcome this yet still can't sell. ( I've never heard anyone doing a search for highest price) When 30 day BINs expire without a single view, not even a bot view, I know better. Let me give you an example... My Item ( 112593031036) is a vintage Sunbeam Iron in metal box, I want $19.95, Now Check sold listings on this Item and you will find one sold for $59.95 while mine was not only overlooked, But in Better Condition, lower shipping cost, and THE IRON WAS NOT INCLUDED, buyer bought an empty box for 3 times the cost of mine with the Iron. Don't tell me buyer only wanted the box, they could buy mine, throw the Iron away, and save $40 for a better box without the rust.
This is only 1 Item, I have more unsolds that are being sold at higher cost. Why is this? Why do I get 8 views within seconds of listing then no views the next 7 days? How do I get 3 views but 8 watchers? These numbers are false. Now throw in the China sellers who list Reproductions with free shipping and I'm washed up. Even when I list, question comes up "Original or Reproduction"? what kind of #@&% is this? I sell American made glassware from the 40s 50s and 60s, most cheaper then a reproduction, but buyers would rather have fakes? I don't believe this, I stand by my statement that eBay hides listings and after I pay 30 cents to list and Item not shown, eBay is ripping me off. Good luck to you.

Apparently customers who buy your type of product are not shopping for price.
Another constant poster has a signature line that quotes a well known marketer as saying "If it doesn't sell, raise the price."
and then
"If it sells fast, it was priced too low."
If your items are not selling at a low price anyway, would it hurt to raise the price for a few weeks?
( I've never heard anyone doing a search for highest price)
I do.
Highest price plus shipping allows me to drill down to my price point faster than to slog up through hundreds of misdescribed and faked items.
The idea of 'aspirational' pricing is that many people who see two items with different prices will conclude that the higher priced one must be better.

I can't find the one that sold for $59 - but do see similar ones that sold for $9.95 with high shipping - $24.95 with free shipping - then again they had cords which yours does not. Plus the first pic is fuzzy - switch it up with a better one as many buyers will back right out of a listing if the first pic is blurry. Of the 3 that I see sold - none were auctions.

Your shipping is high on your smaller items - even boxed a pack of cards doesn't cost $6.85 to ship. The pants could have gone in a padded flat rate envelope which are free from the PO.
Even still - you have almost 400 items listed when there are millions on this sight - it's like being on a roller coaster - when you first list you have the most visibility - you're at the top of the hill - hopefully someone buys your item or puts it on their watch list - as the days go by - others are listing items and they gain that top spot while you slowly move down to the bottom of the pack. Eventually you start moving up the next hill and gain visibility again near the end of the listing.
That's why we always advise to list a few things everyday - at least something will be visibile and just maybe - one of those buyers will check out you other items. There is no throttling - no black outs - just common sense - no one can have visibility 24/7 for the length of their item unless it is truely unique. I screamed about blackouts for years - than actually sat down - thought about it and came to my senses.
