Sales are dead!

Seems sales have ground to a halt - anybody else seeing same/different?  Don't need comments on why (I think I know), just curious if others are seeing same...

Yes! I cant seem to get any sales now. I went to consistently sell one to two things a day to none in the last four days. Very irritated this is happening

I sell dolls and toys and it is different. With Easter coming up, I should be slammed right now, but I've quadrupled my inventory and my sales are literally the lowest they've ever been.

However, I'm not surprised or wondering what's going on - I've noticed that sales generally bounce with the rise and fall of the stock market. If it's more or less in the green, sales are usually good. If stocks are in the red, I usually have a bad day.

The stock market has been on a steady downtick since the initiation of the conflict in Ukraine.

It really comes down to what you're selling. My sales are slower, but at the same time in the past two weeks I've listed three items that all sold in a matter of days. If you've got the right stuff for the right price, it'll still move.

But, we are talking about ebay not other sites, you said you were doing great on ebay, I guess everywhere but ebay then.

People from all categories have been complaining for years - this is nothing new.  Sure, there will be macro changes - more competition from more marketplaces, etc., evolving etailing, but those are over the long term.

Like I said this is different, I'm making in 3 months that I usually make in a month. This type of loss in sales are in every department not just one.

Yet my sales are up, on all of my marketplaces. At some point, my sales will be down, then up again, yet they even out, and there is no way that I would consider myself the acid test for how ALL sales are going - I'm just one person, this is a huge site.  There are people here selling the socks off me and they sell all sorts of things.

If my sales really dip for a period of time, I always look for what I can do to change.

My sales are pretty steady.  I only focus on 60 or 90 day sales data as daily and even weekly data is highly variable.

There have been complaints about sales since October of 1995.

Those with strong sales are too busy to post on Community.

Compare this month's sales to March 2019 and March 2018.

2020 and 2021 were outliers with the pandemic surge in online buying, but if you sell household goods you could use them with some caution.

There tends to be an ebb and flow in annual sales- online or B&M. Which is why it's hard to find a winter coat in January or a bathing suit in August.

Tangibles have been hot which tend to be specific categories of collectibles.

Nope sales have been great on investment grade collectibles. Many people have not even noticed the little bit of inflation. Remember the last time we had inflation late 70's/early 80's like this and then add in double digit interest rates. That slowed down the economy for almost everyone. Today the economy is still booming for many people.

The US economy is, if not booming, in a strong recovery.

I don't consider the stock market to be part of the economy any more than casinos, but employment is back to pre-pandemic levels and adding over 500,000 jobs every month this year.
