Sales Just Suddenly Stopped Again...

... 6 days now, nothing, how has others been this past week? Doesn't make much sense, I had a 10% off sale running (weird, I sold things without the sale prior but trying to make room for new stock soon) and I added some listings (something I wasn't doing for awhile was adding more items). Sales have been going steady for few months til 6 days ago they just stopped for no reason. I "refreshed" my listings through bulk editor various times also. Idk if ebay is hiding listings like I've heard others say, I can get mine come up through searches this morning but I was also logged in (shouldn't make a difference(?)).

6 Days for me too. I sold a small order today probably because the buyer clicked 'search closest sellers'. I'm 50 miles from Athens GA.

Same here. I don't understand why this continually happens. Things will be strong for a few weeks, then nothing for several days. It's really frustrating. This is how I make my living, but this has had such an impact that I'm now looking for a job.

It is terribly slow here too. Have tried everything I can think of to stir things up and drum up some sales. My sales were going along just fine, and then nothing. I think it is going on 9 days. I hope it picks up soon for everyone!

For quite some time sales have been high and low - ten days good sales, then almost zero. And again.

This is happening to my sales on a regular basis. .. since ebay began to push 'promote my listings'  Ebay's policy of showing buyers what they consider to be similar products at lower prices between a buyer clicking onto my listing and scrolling down to the detailed description of my listing is severely damaging my business.  The similar products are 'promoted' because sellers are paying extra fees to ebay.  I honestly believe that this policy is creating a bargain basement environment where the only sellers to survive will be those who are willing to cut back on quality (anything can be made to look good in a photo) and will cut back on the level of service they give to buyers - they will do this to recoup the extra fees they pay to ebay to promote their listings and to hijack my buyers when they click onto my listings.  None of us pick pries out of the air... they are worked out to be competitive and to give us a reasonable profit.   We have worked hard over the past four years to build a business and to build confidence in our product and service - and to shake off the feeling amongst many buyers that ebay is somehow slightly 'shady' and that products might not always be what they appear to be... and the idea that they should somehow expect a poor level of customer service...  I sincerely believe that ebay's policy of promoting the listings of sellers who give them more money is damaging in the extreme - not just to my business - but to ebay as a whole.  I believe that they are manipulating my listings in order to pressure me into promoting my listings.  It's their play pen - their policies... we are actively looking into moving the bulk of our business onto other selling platforms.

The following phenomenon is inexplicable to me: a few days without any sales, and all of a sudden, within 30-60 minutes, several sales in the same category (I sell in several different categories of collectibles), with the same or similar keywords in the titles ? And buyers are almost always from different parts of the world.

Well said! And it's truth. But not only Promoted Listings, just the GTC killed sales for a lot of buyers, Promoted Listings is just another log on the fire. At least in my perspective as a seller. Promoted Listings for me have done nothing, yet others swear by it... depends the seller you talk to i guess. But as you said it's created a bargain market, and i don't mean that bargains are bad or never existed before on ebay, but what it's created is more of a cut throat experience. Most of my prices are the lowest for that item on ebay but I can't really go lower (I have 10% of sale on right now)... When I look on search for my items and find 10 other listings selling that item for BELOW WHOLESALE .... well when everyone is cutting and cutting their prices just to make a sale that hurts the overall market because by doing so the value of things are being driven down but the cost to get them are not, the fees you pay to ebay are not, fees to paypal are not, postage costs are not either... in the end we have to make something in the end on the sale, that's what we are here for but that something has to be worthwhile.

My sales have dropped as well and I have been running a 20% off sale for the past two months. with all the changes E-bay has made and want you to do to your listings the more I do the more my sales continue to drop. So after 10 years of selling on E-bay I have removed all my active listings on E-bay and will no longer sale on E-bay.  It is not worth selling on E-bay anymore  they are not what they use to be. As a hole I see E-bay going down hill more and more,  and I have  started listing my items to another plat form, Because E-bay seems to care nothing about sellers anymore, and when you can't make a profit and can only pay  your invoice it is time to move on. I wish every seller on e-bay the best of luck and I hope your sales increase  a great deal. But I can't wait around for sales to increase  because Mine have been dropping and keep dropping and had even add best offer to every item and was not even getting any offers. and when you drop from selling 12 t0 14 items a week down to 3or 4 items a week it is time to say good bye to e-bay

I'm so very sorry - and wish you the best of luck.  I think ebay are letting us all down (as sellers) As a selling platform ebay is broken - hope it's not too late for them to fix it... it's the biggest shop window in the world - and it's sad to see what's happening to it now.  It's big world out there 🙂  hope you find another selling platform that suits your business.

Greed, that is the real problem. All these online sites seem to be pulling the same tricks like promoted listings. It is not enough for them to get paid to list the items and paid again when they sell but they are basically saying that unless you pay them again to promote your listings they will hardly be seen. Greed seems to be taking over everywhere and it is killing everyone financially.

Do not know, but there is a new business in town that buys liquidation, returns etc from Amazon, freight damages etc and starts sales of the stuff on Tuesday at $ 6, then $ 4, then $ 2 until Sat when everything goes for a $ .25, that's right a quarter. They then restock Sun and Monday and repeat.   Apparently, that seems to be an eBay supply center as a lot of that stuff ends up on eBay. The neighborhood is up in arms and there has been a lawsuit started against the landlord and business as this has created a mess, congestion, lines, fights, garbage in the entire neighborhood. On Sat it is gridlock with mobs storming the place.  LOL

... i got a sale about half hour ago, new listing I put up yesterday, cheap item but it's something, hoping sales pick up from here, got bills to be paid like everyone else.
