STEEP drop in sales starting 1/20/21

Anyone else have a huge drop in sales? Trying to list a bunch and relist some to get back up but it's kinda scary how slow my store is right now!

I think people are glued to watching Bitcoin and now Gamestop.  It is crazy how fast things are changing in the world.  

My sales are lagging but I won't sell certain things on ebay anymore.  I am waiting for mangled payments to activate to see how bad it is.

I count 28 sales in 7 days....is that way below average for you?

I started selling on eBay at the end of November 2020 and sold 70- 80 items in the first month. Not too bad. eBay and USPS got rich, but I was far from even breaking even. This month sells have trickled to a complete stop. The only people buying are the bottom feeders giving me super lowball offers and when I try to counter they disappear.  I haven't sold anything in three days. I usually at least sell one or two a day. I'm just trying to break even and then I think I might try another platform because its just not worth it.

We had a little bump when people got their $600 stimulus. That ended a few days ago.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Was very nice. I wish they could pass that 2k stimulus, but that is me dreaming.

I agree I started selling the beginning of December and went Gung ho until one week ago. Sales stopped. I have lowered some prices but it's not making me want to try anymore. As a person on a fixed income having the shipping expenses upfront seeing my $ sitting there just put me in the hole. Looking for better venue.

Sorry to hear your sales have slowed. While that is not satisfying, it is part of the ebb and flow of selling on eBay. Not time to panic yet. It is also possible you were receiving a boost from eBay. It is thought by some that new sellers are granted better Search placement in the beginning to help them get established, and as time goes on, that extra boost goes away. 

There are ways to give yourself a boost in traffic by following eBay's guidelines. See link below. It also helps your listings get picked up by Google, Bing, and other search engines, which can be great for sales. Good luck and wish you much success here!

Down almost 70% from last year and that was down about 65% from the year before. My sales have been declining for the last few years. Ebay is not my major platform anymore, I will list but don't expect to sell.

I'm shipping four to fifteen packages a day.  I'm not  slow, but I don't sell clothing.

Thanks for the link! I will read it and hopefully it will help! I have gone through my listings and checked the box for the premium placements so hopefully that helps a little although it will take more of my profits I need to keep things moving. It is interesting what you say about eBay giving a boost to new sellers. That would be really smart on their part because they defiantly got me hooked, lol! I am addicted to that sound my phone makes when I make a sound. I am jonesing now...
