Mailing a digital code/card

I've bought dozens of digital "delivered now" codes from sellers on ebay without a problem.

I recently began selling some extra codes I had and offering delivery through ebay message.  One code was troublesome and was bought three times by three accounts where I first received a request to mail them the code, then a "MC010 Account Security Communication Partner Warning" from eBay.  I waited before sending the code in each case and in the last case, I sent the code before getting the warning from eBay.  The buyer claims that their account was taken over.  They'll get their money back but the code was used.

If I had mailed out the code with a tracking number in addition to sending it by eBay message, would I have been OK?  What would the recourse have been?

Hi, eBay has stringent rules for digitally delivered goods. Below is a link to the policy.

Not everything is suitable for selling on eBay. Not knowing the details of your item, i still

would not try to sell it again as it is attracting fraudsters.

On eBay, any buyer can steal any item from any seller at any time by filing a fraudulent dispute.

If you shipped it with tracking, chances are that would simply change the type of dispute used to scam you.

Some items attract fraud. IMHO digital codes are one of them.
