As in 1 1/2 days now e bay is forcing me into managed payments. I sell wood and pecans mostly. So to keep my ratings. I mail 1 day handling. I want the little discount. Most will now be ate or burned my product up before I will be paid for it. I think that is not right. The site is much slower now than ever. It is just getting not worth it. As postage going up 2 times this year. E bay now will be feeing it twice. Feeing my sales also. In total with all fees and postage cost. On my free mailing I offer I am now profiting about %23 on my price on most all items. I am just feeding the greedy postal service and e bay. Stores for working materials packing, gas, internet , etc. I am thinking seriously in a few days just to hang it up. As my views are lower than ever now. No bids on items I am try to just make very little on after all is said and done. It is just heart breaking how the systems greed is just about t make me quit. I do thank all for reading my post. Wish all yawl the very best. So glad I am not trying to start from scratch on her I would not do it. When e bay asked me now in their survey. How likely are you to recommend e bay. It is a 0. Just my vent. I think it is soon to be yawl will not see anymore post from me. Because I am going to off e bay soon I am sure.

EBAY !!! Is screwing with the way people pay. We need a class action law suit. THAT is why less people are buying !!!

I hope that you give it a chance. Your post made me very sad. I'm not even sure what you said that made my heart hurt. But I feel you.
It is pecan pie time! My personal favorite, next to Apple peach pie😉 I am hopeful that things will get better and that you are busy packing and shipping very soon. Really, take care.
With hope for all of us that are struggling,
Grandma

You're preaching to the choir.

I see this a lot. Diversify!!! There are simply too many other forums out there besides eBay to move your products on. A lot of them have lower fee's, no fee's, better seller protections in place and other more attractive seller features. While they may not currently have the customer base eBay has always remember Amazon used to be a book store and an Apple was something you ate.

Keep in mind that the Presidential election is tomorrow. I may have sold five things I the last two weeks and I wouldn't expect otherwise. 350 million people are practically holding their breath to see what comes out of tomorrow's election. It's kind of like 4th of July weekend on ebay or Labor Day weekend. Sales drop temporarily because people have lives and need a break from their computer.
Once the election hoopla dies down in a few weeks your sales may improve. I take the slow times to tweak my auctions and to b sure I have the shipping costs covered.
Keep your chin up regardless of what you decide to do.

I recommend adding the actual cost of postage onto your listings. Free postage is only worth it if you can cover the cost of it in your sales. Its obviously not giving your store a boost so in that case just add it on and see if any improvement. I'd also move to 30 day returns buyer pays return shipping policy. After making those changes run a 10% off sale on weekends to see if that helps. The election maybe causing slow sales for many right now.

I will buy some for my pies and candied pecans. My granddaughters and I give our neighbors pecan pies for Thanksgiving tied with jute and decorated with small pinecones to show our thankfulness. I do NOT want you to give me any refund. I will not hear of it! I am happy to support you and your business. I am thankful to have someone like yourself cross my path.
As soon as I post this, I will look through your listings and purchase.
With kindness and hope....
Happy Thanksgiving...almost 😉

Ummmm-- slow sales on Sunday and part of Monday?
I think you need a longer time period for any useful data.
As postage going up 2 times this year.
For everyone, including your competitors. You may have to adjust your pricing, just like every other seller.
E bay now will be feeing it twice. Feeing my sales also. In total with all fees and postage cost.
Well, yes.
That's how this works.
EBay charges you a fee for listing (between free and 35c each) plus a percentage of the selling price (around 10% although Stores and some categories are lower and sellers with Defects are higher) and of the shipping cost (a set 10%).
The fee on shipping has been around for a few years now, five, perhaps?
EBay exists for the same reason you are selling here, to make money.
EBay is not your friend. EBay is your landlord.
You may have to take a hard look at your business and work on some details.
Are you using Free Shipping? If so, are you adding the cost of shipping to your other costs (fees, packaging, labour, procurement costs, etc.) and setting your asking prices from there?
Are there some products that, with those costs in mind, not saleable because your costs make your asking prices too high?
Are your products out of date? Are you selling Beanie Babies in a Shopkins market?
I was looking at your prices on pecans. You are charging $4.00 a pound, Delivered for pecans?
Have you tried checking prices for these nuts in other parts of the USA?
This won't be much help since it is in Canada and in Canadian dollars (Our loonie is about 75cUSD) -- but it might give you some idea of retail prices far from the growers.
Given that your nuts are bulky, they would, I think, be shipping parcel service, and those are usually priced with destination in mind as well as weight and dimensions. You may be better off forgetting "Free Shipping" and moving to Calculated Shipping.
The point is to make money. If keeping your prices low means you lose money, you have to either raise your prices or stop selling online.
Buyers LOOOOOOVE Free Shipping, but it is not always the best choice, no matter how attractive eBay makes it seem.

Sorry to hear things are slow right now. I think everyone can appreciate that your pecans are "farm fresh". That's rare these days! You should charge your customers for shipping. You need to make a decent profit to make it worth your time.

Your right very kind and considerate. In this world today hard to find. Most just mock or give suggestions of no use. If e bay is becoming broken. Nothing a single seller can do to fix it. They are just all about the buck. I do wish you the best thank you for reading my post. I also love Grandma.

I have checked prices. At my local market they are $ 5 per Lb. I am not basing this on a two day deal. E bay could entice more sellers by giving the shipping fees they charge back to their sellers. I am not on here all for the cash like most all. What happened to the share at a fair price with out trying to kill it with fees taxes greedy postal system that the tax payer bails out every year with paying taxes to them. They got 2 billon dollars from tax payers to send in mail in votes etc. Said loosing money when. I for a fact just me alone on here paid e bay over $3000 last year in fees. And paid a postal workers salary and the gas for the truck to drive from my local post office to the distribution center. I most likely will just give this junk up. Instead of jacking prices to the roof just to support the greedy system. I can share better with a flea market and yard sales. Make a friend buy giving a fair price. If e bay would refund the postal fees the profit on with labels printed from their site. Sellers could lower prices attract more buyer. And do what is right not fee a tax and fee a tax supported service.
