Did you mean:

SIXTY sponsored item ads on my listing page?

Are you kidding me?  When did this change roll out?  I notice a new layout which rolled out tonight with a wider first picture (I remember seeing a similar layout a few months back, for like 1 day), but upon scrolling through the listing, I can't help but notice way more bloat than I remember.

Format goes:

Pictures/seller info

Row of "Similar sponsored items"

Row of "Sponsored items customers also bought"

Item Description

Feedback section

Row of "Most popular sponsored items"

Row of "Visually similar sponsored items"

Row of "Influenced by recent sponsored views"

Row of "People who viewed this item also viewed"

SEVEN (yes, 7) Rows of "Find more sponsored items"

Banner ad

Another Banner ad

Literally, nearly 80% of the space on the page is something other than my listing.  Altogether I counted links to 54 different sponsored items and 6 "buyer also viewed" items.

This is so beyond ridiculous I don't even know what to say.

I think the worst I have seen in 18 years of selling on ebay. I know why ebay does it, but they are really crippling peoples sales.

They're crippling both the selling and buying experience in general.  It is almost as if "Sponsored Listings" were a creation of some artificial intelligence and they have completely taken over the entire site.

Re: SIXTY sponsored item ads on my listing page?

You don't own your listing page, EBay does. That is VALUABLE real estate and you're not paying all that rent yourself. If you have a quality item, at a fair price, with good marketing (all of which is in your control) you have nothing to worry about because those ads don't matter.

Only way to get "even" or get a leg up, is to start "renting" space on other people's listings. But remember,  in the end, the "house" (EBay) always wins...

Re: SIXTY sponsored item ads on my listing page?

We pay each month for our store listings. Now there are more than 20 rows of additional ads on each of our listings which makes it extremely annoying to work on or even get to our site map to make changes. We never gave permission for all these additional ads being placed. Seems like eBay is becoming more like Amazon where everything is micromanaged and sellers have no say about anything. That is the number one reason we stopped selling on Amazon. eBay better wake up. We have been selling on eBay for 23 years, maybe we will not be doing 24!

Re: SIXTY sponsored item ads on my listing page?

It's almost sheer chance your item sells.
Starts out as a buyer searching and opening your item (miracle in itself).
Then they see those adds and want to see what that's all about.
They click on one, and see more adds, and want to see what that's all about.
Now they are wondering where the initial one went, IF they even remember what they were shopping for to begin with.
End up leaving or just buying a like item from one of the adds, just to be done.
