SELLERS SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO SEE BUYERS RETURN FOR REFUND HISTORY...

as a seller, we should have a tool that shows the buyers history of return/refund request, like a clickable link next to the ebay users name, that clickable link should show the number of request for refunds just like the number indicating feedbacks received, and that link should show us the reason for the return and the outcome in favor of the seller or the buyer (no need to see all the messege exchanges within that request filing)....to allow us sellers the ability to retract/cancel bids of those buyers who have consistant/shady return requests...this new tool should help sellers be informed of buyers habits of filing for return or not.  please ebay, please implement something like this to help us control who we allow to bid/buy from us sellers to maybe not eliminate, but drastically reduce fraudulant buyers.

Sellers should have the ability to know the buyers location when they are sending best offers, sellers should have the ability to know if a buyer asking for additional discounts initially clicked on promoted listings. I’m constantly shocked by the amount of money I am paying over things like not knowing the buyers location and not knowing if they found my item via promoted listings.

That will never happen, nor will buyers ever see how many returns a seller has gotten to maybe avoid buying anything from them.

Agreed 100%.  However, eBay won't implement this feature as it might reduce the fees they collect.  We now carefully review the feedback left for others by the seller prior to accepting any offers.  However, this only paints part of the picture.  At the very least, sellers should be able to leave both positive and neutral feedback on all sales.

hopefully ebay can implement these request...something us sellers can use to weed out possible fraud/scam for a better ebay experience...at the moment, i feel like ive been had a few times...i'd say less than 5 instances where i know the buyer was/is trying to scam me...i dont have proof but i know what im selling is different from what the buyer had/is describing...but the ability to view buyers request for refund history would be a help to us sellers...i want to know who consistantly request refunds so i can stay away from/block/cancel, etc...these buyers.

@recycledtech4u

They did have something like that, it was called being able to give buyers negative feedback.

Have a great day.

i undestand it goes both ways, but at the moment, we already see sellers feedback from buyers...so its easy for someone to decide if im comfortable buying from that seller...but not knowing a buyer's buying history as far as return request, especially when a buyer has hundreds of positive feedback from sellers but have zero feedbacks the buyer has given a seller...for me, i am sketchy at those that have hundreds of feedbacks received as a buyer but doesnt take the time to reciprocate that feedback...and as a seller, i wish ebay would allow for longer feedback...i believe feedbacks are alotted only up to 90 letters?  cant really say much in that amount of letters allowed.

Oh WOW! THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC!!! Walmart and other big corps keep records on buyers and after so many returns they restrict. At least they used to do that. But, would Ebay actually trust sellers to restrict when they see that happening. IDK. It would give sellers some good control over series returners.

It would depend on how they view returns as far as their bottom line and their reports to stockholders on sales figures. If they count all the massive returns as actual sales then they may not want sellers to be restricting BAD BUYERS.

eBay will be doing none of this. What platform do you think you are really selling on?! eBay is 100% buyer centric.

If you think someone is pulling some "funny business", then BLOCK them and move on. eBay will not even allow you to leave negative feedback for buyers who don't pay, so what makes you think they are concerned with a buyer's return history?

I hear stuff like this from people all over, selling on eBay. Just block the undesirables and move on.  There is nothing else to do, there is no "feature" that will ever be created for sellers, so move on and stop complaining.  The block feature is the sellers greatest asset for business defense (and about ALL you have to defend your business).

On any platform, you can't alienate the buyers or you will have no sellers and then the platform folds.

When you own a brick and mortar store there is no way to judge your customers as they shop. Selling is a risk, no matter where or how you do it.

If we each tried to be our best selves, maybe it would change our interactions with others. Or maybe we all need to realize that selling is not for everyone.

There is enough negativity to go around. I personally would like to see less not the ability for more.

I hope that the tide changes and that things improve for those of us working hard to make ends meet.

Good Night,

Grandma

SELLERS SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO SEE BUYERS RETURN FOR REFUND HISTORY

If sellers could see a buyer;s history, buyers would simply create new accounts and make that history go away.

But that side, I'm all for it - as long as buyers get to see a seller's cancellation, refund, and dispute history.

SELLERS SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO SEE BUYERS RETURN FOR REFUND HISTORY...

the reason i created this topic is because i had a buyer who msg'd me letting me know that the macbook pro he bought from me doesnt work...and that he replaced the memory sticks and that it turns on with beeps than shuts off...my main concern is why did the buyer open the macbook pro and replace the memory stick...why not just do an immediate refund...altho it is not mentioned in my listing, shouldnt opening the macbook pro and replacing the memory stick void a return, since it usually voids warranty?  what else could the buyer replace?  buyer could trade logic board being that buyer said that the macbook pro doesnt work in the first place, while replacing ram sticks?  my listing shows the macbook turned on with several photos of the specs and battery percentage icon...there is no way he got the macbook not working.  i might believe buyer more if he said that there was damage to the box and that there was some physical damage to the macbook that might have been the cause for it to not work or turn on...not sure exactly what buyer meant by doesnt not work.

anyhow, my listing did say include a 30 return, but not when a buyer opens up the macbook and replace the memory stick...and whatever else the buyer might have replaced or exchanged....buyer shouldnt had opened the macbook as i wouldve accepted the return with no issue...just want to avoid buyers who buy and switch out parts then wants a refund and will use any excuse to get that refund while getting a part he switched out for free.

You forget that certain percentage of sellers who would take FULL advantage of every little thing ebay gives them, and that percentage is by no means small, matter of fact once it takes hold it could involve the entire seller base using their new tricks to totally abuse the buyers.

That is why, no.

Should the buyers be able to see the seller's too?
