SCAM PLEASE HELP

I'm the seller I sold a Graphics Card for $1,700. It sold with-in 30 seconds of me listing it. Which means they are using some monitors.

With-in a few hours I got a message from another user (I'm Assuming fake-account) saying I just bought your Graphics card can you send it to another address. Red flag.

Question: How does this account know that I just sold my item? I'm assuming he is using two accounts.  The fake account first tries to get me to send it to another address.( Which I declined)  Then the real account is pretending like nothing is happening. (The Good Guy account) so they are trying to get me from two angles.

So I sent the good guy a box now he is saying I sent them the wrong product. And we all know that eBay always goes with the buyer. Do you know how I can convince eBay this is a scam?   I did a report but all they did was deleted the (fake account that tried to get me to send it to another address) eBay is not understanding that account is what is setting up the scam.

Hope this makes sense.

...did they open an INAD case...?

...if so, wait until you get back your item (which I hope you will...sorry...), refund them, block them, and ...move on...

...eBay will side with scam artists - buyers...not you...

"Do you know how I can convince eBay this is a scam?"

No, because ebay won't think that conjecture is proof of anything.

Even if you know absolutely that the two accounts are the same person, or on the same scam team, ebay doesn't care nor will they play private detective for you.

You should still try though but the outcome is not looking good.

"So I sent the good guy a box ..."

A box or the Graphics Card in a box? It's a rather ambiguous statement.

To what city/state (do not name the buyer) did you send this product?

The scammer simply watched your graphics card and as soon as it ended they sent you the message. One account may have nothing to do with the other, there are many scammers looking for  sellers like you, ones with little recent activity.

I highly doubt both accounts are related to each other. I would chalk it up to coincidence that you have an unfortunate “good guy” original buyer. Because if it were a team... why even bother with using a second buyer? Just claim it was the wrong item and ebay will side with you.

Sold items are public information. Anyone can search the site and find them.

Or the first buyer is perfectly innocent and you are just imagining things.

The first buyer could be perfectly legitimate. Nothing the second scammer did equired any coordination with the first buyer.

eBay does not need to play detective. The proof is all there. eBay has access to your DMs and can see the scam account messaging you.

There are 2 Accounts

1.  A scam Account

2.  Good Guy Account (part of the scam)

How does the Scam account know within seconds of the item being "SOLD" to send me a DM saying I bought your product, please send it to a different address (red flag for eBay and the seller). They get this information from the **Good Guy account by sending your eBay ID to the Scam account. So they can DM you. How else would they get this information?

This is a full-proof scam. If the user does not send it to a different address, the **Good Guy Account can just say that was a scam account and play stupid.  Then when you send your product they use eBay protection by doing a chargeback or say they got the wrong item.

Buyers always win on any dispute and eBay gets their fee. Win-Win for everyone besides the seller.

Thanks  bbravo65  that is what I'm doing going through the propper eBay channels.  It's always embarrassing when you get scammed.

Seems like other people have other agendas on this forum.

There's no 'scam' account; all any 'buyer' has to do is 'watch' your item. Once it sells, send you a message (anyone can still see your item; also- if you have anything else for sale, all I have to do is look at your 'other items for sale' and then on the left, click 'sold items' and see anything you have already sold. Send you a message telling you "I'm the winner, send it here instead".

All you have to do is the following:

NEVER NEVER NEVER ship to any other address other than the one already listed as the winner. Period. If a 'true' buyer were to catch that their address was 'wrong' or 'changed'; you'd have to cancel the sale and refund (if they already paid) and then that buyer what you did and you'd have to 'relist'.

Scamming someone is rarely done in teams. It’s one on one. Your Good Guy can claim item is defective, send a bag of rocks with the label you are required to pay for, and they will get their refund and the item.  He doesn’t need help.

These two were working separately. This guy that responded so quickly after it sold has a system.
They both do, but here is the “loser’s” thing. He sits at his computer all day, refreshing the ‘recently sold’ filter. That’s how he found you.
The good guy used the ‘newly listed’ filter.

Because there are scam buyers out there who know how to use the system, I never list anything that I can’t afford to lose.  These graphics cards are very popular. There are scammers selling and buying these things. With so much fraud, I’m surprised eBay allows them to be traded here.

eBay will always side with the buyer. This process is probably completed by bots. Human eyes may see some, but not all. They have no desire to hear your side. They aren’t going to look at your interactions.

Well, they might look into the messages AFTER you report the buyer for abusing the MBG.
But you have to be scammed before you can report it as a scam.
Once reported, eBay may sanction the offending account, but that doesn’t help you. You’re still out the money and the item.

...thank you for accepting my reply as your solution...

...I highly hope you get back your original item...I wish you a lot of lucks...

...whenever you doubt about your sales, better listen to your instinct...you have choices to either protect your asset values (money) plus peace in your mind by courageously taking  a negative mark on your eBay selling platform when cancelling a sales which raised too much concern, or dealing with hassles as scams, remorseful buyers...

...personally, I'd rather choosing peace in my mind...

...and don't feel embarrass as a scam's victim...whomever scammed you should be shameful...

...May God bless you and your business...

Thank you for your help. You are the best. It is crazy to see all the other reply's trying to debunk the scam.  It feels like they are working for the scammers.  So no one believes my claims.  The internet is a crazy place.

Seems like they are very aggressive when someone shows a scam.

either way thanks for your help.
