Revision to rating - does it really happen?

I have a question.  There was a period of time where some of my auctions went out late last year, due to family emergencies, hospitalizations (COVID and non-COVID), and others.  My rating went down.  I am trying to get my seller rating back up. I know eBay reviews it the 20th of each month.

The last two months I have had stellar reviews, no defects and no late shipments. Yet my rating is still low.  I reached out to eBay and they told me they saw past problems (defects etc) last year and that they review accounts monthly on the 20th. Basically told me something I already knew but did not resolve the issue.

Has anyone else out there been in this position, and how long/soon did it take to update and upgrade the seller rating? Thanks to anyone who has input.

Re: Revision to rating - does it really happen?

From the eBay help page entitled Seller performance policy

What's eBay's performance evaluation period?

We evaluate your performance every month. The length of time we look at in each evaluation depends on how many recent transactions you've had. If you've had 400 or more transactions in the last three months, you're evaluated over that three-month period. If you've had fewer than 400 transactions in the last three months, you're evaluated on the past 12 months. These timelines help us make sure we're evaluating you as fairly as possible.

Re: Revision to rating - does it really happen?

Your evaluation on the 20th of each month is based on the previous 12 full calendar months. So the evaluation on January 20 was based on January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.

Your status will improve either when the late shipments roll off of your 12-month history, or when you get extra sales so that the late shipments are a smaller percentage of your total.
