Returns

I have had two buyers in the past month who asked to return NEW items saying they are not new, or were shipped  broken.  They are sending back their old used and/or broken parts and I have to give them a refund.  I am stuck with junk that I cannot resell.  My pictures clearly show the new undamaged parts but eBay always sides with the buyer, even though they are lying.  What can I do, other that find another selling venue?  I am tired of crooked buyers!

Re: Returns

You can report them to the FBI and The USPS.  To be honest you will not likely get you money or item back.  What would be accomplished is for their name to be put on a list and if their name continues to get complaints then they may be investigation.

I reported someone to the USPS for ripping me off.  They went to Jail.  It was not just for my complaint, it was because there were many complaints.

FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)

United States Postal Inspection Service

Once I was contacted by the FBI due to stolen property sold on eBay.  They just wanted to know what I had purchased from a Seller who they were building a case against.

Re: Returns

Used to only happen to me one a year if that. Now it happens to me quite often. Not much you can do. Ebay will tell you (if you qualify) to utilize your 50% refund tool. Which doesn't refund your shipping charges (both ways) but hey you get half of what the item old for back.

Not that long ago you could keep the original shipping cost even on bogus returns but that was taken away without even as much as a notice from ebay or a warning. It was there for years and then it was just gone without warning.

You have two choices, no longer sell here. Or you can do what the other member suggested and file a case with the USPS and or the ic3.gov site. Ebay normally covers me when I show them I filed a theft report.

Yes, find another selling platform that has only honest buyers, no crooked buyers.

Show me where that exists!  I'd really like to know!  lol

Do they also not have crooked sellers?  lol

Re: Returns

@vhubka68

Actually most of the time you get back exactly what you sold them.  Often buyers say things when trying to return an item at the seller's expense that isn't quite accurate.  So you likely will be fine with what you get.

If for any reason you get back something you didn't ship, then make sure you report that buyer to Ebay right away.  If you qualify to just give a partial refund if it is an item you sold them but damaged by the buyer.

That was only on properly filed Buyer Remorse Returns and it is still something sellers that qualify can do.
