What do you think about ebay letting buyers request a return 2 months after the auction ended ?  Plus you can have "no returns" in your settings and buyers can still request a return and get it.

...per eBay Money Back Guarantee policy, buyers have up to 60 days in filing a return case...that even seller don't offer return...

...but don't bother about return request filing...buyers can go straightly to their financial institutions for credit card charge back or transaction dispute...and sellers will for sure lose both selling money and their items...

What we think about eBay's policy doesn't matter... we signed on. And you're correct... No Returns is a bad policy choice.

You do not have to 'accept returns', but you DO have to refund (returned or not) so never let it get to eBay having to step in on any INAD case

If your buyer was outside the MBG time frame, the case would have been filed through Paypal, which requires the buyer to pay for return of item.

@lanesstuff

The buyer can request a return 2 months later, but once the MBG expires, it's up to the seller if they want to accept the return or not.

Have a great day.

I recommend that you familiarize yourself thoroughly with the terms of the MBG.  This may clear up any confusion that you have about the time constraints set forth in the MBG.  However, you should also be aware that buyers may also use other avenues to seek returns and refunds such as through their payment source which often have much longer windows for which them to do it.

Usually if you deny the return, they just file a chargeback and win that way.

Unfortunate, but reality.

Actually, I disagree that having a no returns policy is a bad choice.  Of course, one must realize that such a policy can only apply to remorse returns since to try to enforce such a policy items received NAD could lead to claims of false advertising.

Downunder-61 is correct.  It is 30 days, not 60.

@downunder-61

...thank you for the correct information...

...but I had a request for a return at nearly 2 months and eBay still allowed buyer to submit that request...I denied the request of course...my opinion about this issue is if eBay allowing time for any return request is 30 days then eBay should deny those request from the 31th day instead of pulling sellers involve in, that would save time for both sellers and buyers...

...but then buyers have another route to go, their banking system...no matter what, sellers are screwed...

(the CC charge back and transaction dispute are so popular now on eBay if return wasn't granted...wonder if in B&M store, one can't make a return because of past time allowance, or any other remorse, modified, wrongful item, etc...can that one calling the bank to file charge back...?)

Some sellers do have a 60 day returns policy. Otherwise the buyer needs to file within 30 days of receiving the item or the expected delivery date.

eBay allows buyers to open a case past the eBay timeframe but it is only to communicate to the buyer. If the seller fixes the problem, fine,,,,,if not then the buyer won't be able to escalate the case if it was opened late.

I would not allow it. You need to set your return rules in your listings and stick with that-your the Boss

It doesnt matter what terms a seller has, when a buyer invokes the Money Back Guarantee, its terms supersedes those of the seller.
