Recently I’ve been getting a number of packages returned or returning to me where the tracking info says “Return to sender processed” when the package is at its final USPS location. But it doesn’t say anything else in regards to that. When these RTS packages show up, they just have that white sticker on it saying Return to Sender and nothing else. When I ask the carrier they just shrug.
When I ask the 800 number all they say is that the recipient initiated the RTS. I usually find out about these from the buyer complaint or INR. When I tell them about the RTS, they always claim that they never asked USPS to RTS the package.
Has this happened to anyone else lately? I wonder what could be the cause of this.

If the buyer "returns to sender" -- I think that voids their money back guarantee.
However, when I receive the item back, I refund less the shipping (and put the buyer on the list.)

It does void it. But still I’d like to find out what’s actually causing this RTS where the buyer denies ever doing it.

Had one two months ago. What happened in this case was that the buyers address had something wrong. In this case the buyers address (from ebay) had PLACE when it actuality it should have been LANE. Pretty minor but still caused the RTS.
So maybe there is something just a little bit off in the address.
