Return request

Hi everyone...so pretty new here.

I sold a pair of shoes, my post had very clear and close up pictures and for under $13.00 the customer emailed me she said the condition is worse than expected and asked my return policy although i had no returns on my listing. Feeling frustrated is it better to just give a refund and not deal with these people? Do they bad mouth you even if they are wrong...sorry for rambling

They will probably neg you if you say no. You could tell them to ship it back, and they will still neg you. You could send them a label to ship back and then refund, then there is less chance they will neg you but is it worth paying shipping back? You can just refund and call it a day if you're not out much and hope they don't neg you anyway.

Return request

Thats your best bet

I would just go on and refund and be done with them....especially seeing as you have no returns listed. Then block the buyer so you wont have a repeat of this from them, at least.

I think it wise that you have some sort of return policy. Youre going to have to sooner than later when managed payments take affect. May as well bite that bullet now. Having a return policy gets your item(s) back too, no returns you stand to lose them

Judge not others by your own limitations

They do not tend to badmouth you when you just go ahead and give them a refund, which is the only option on when selling on Ebay, or any other major online platform.  Just go ahead and take your first loss by giving the refund and abandoning the shoes unless you want to pay postage for the return which is not worth it for $13 shoes even when you charge double needed for postage as the shoes would have easily fit into a flat rate bubble mailer.

Return request

Hi, as @paradiso*bella*a*venire  was saying, when selling clothes you might consider having a return policy. At the least, it can help prevent buyers from opening bogus Not As Described claims to force a refund thru eBay.

But as for your situation here, i also would refund and let the buyer keep the shoes, because it will cost you more to get them back with no way to recoup your expense at that price point of $13.

Or you could offer the buyer a partial refund, which might satisfy them and keep the transaction from being a total bust for you.

Every post is good advice for the poster, but may not be the right advise for you or I.

1. I would not give a refund without return of mdse.  If the item was a money maker when listed, it will be a money maker when relisted and sold to the right buyer. Through the return center, return shipping costs will be under $5.

2) Don't decide what to do by guessing what this stranger might do. ASK. saying, "I am sorry you are dissatisfied. What remedy, if any, were you hoping for?" Or "what remedy, do you think is fair in the case of disagreement over condition?"  Maybe they want a partial. Maybe they just want to let you know they were unhappy. There is that rule, "praise in public, criticize in private."

3. You don't have to state a return policy. You only have to click returns accepted or not, both cases mean you follow ebay standard policy.
