Hello- sold some computer processors. Delivery was made Dec 20. Buyer opens return today. I don’t accept returns. If I decline the request, can the buyer escalate to resolution dept? I don’t want a defect.
Thanks!

Because you have "no returns" you are not required to accept returns except if covered by EBAY Money Back Guarantee (defective, counterfeit, not as described). But understand that will stop buyer from going to credit card company and "reversing payment" (keep item and your money).

As long as you have the option to decline, it is not a SNAD & you won't get a defect. I don't think they can escalate, b/c they basically submitted it as a remorse return & you declined it. They CAN however still leave you bad DSRs or FB.
If it is a SNAD/INAD, then you will NOT have an option to decline it.

If a buyer really wants their money back, they will find a way regardless of your not accepting returns. Buyer can open a case via PayPal for up to six months, and those are much harder to fight. Buyer can also open a chargeback using their credit card, which they will win as they are the client for that account and not you. Choose your battles wisely and best of luck to you....

How much money does this concern? Several hundred dollars?
You can decline if you wish, but that does not mean if the Buyer escalates, they will not "change" their reason when they escalate to e-Bay. Should not be able to do that, but have seen e-Bay allow same. Typically, if they do not get what they want, they file a CC chargeback and get their money back AND do not have to return the item.
What is the reason for the return?

The MBG has expired and you can decline the return and there's nothing more they can do on Ebay.
If they paid through Pay Pal or a credit card, they can file a claim with them for 180 days.

Thank you. It was $63. As is typical with selling processors, buyers state some are broken and ask for money back. My list of blocked bidders is up to 2500 people- happens all the time.
I declined the request. He filed a chargeback dispute. I gave him his money back and avoided the demerit of a return. Small victories. Blocked the buyer.

I regularly update my blocked bidder list with other sellers even though I may not have had a transaction with them personally. We as sellers need to band together to block the bid/try/return buyers because ebay certainly isn't helping us, only them.

This thread is over 2 years old. My guess is the OP got their problem solved at that time, so I doubt they'll be replying.
Happy Easter
