I sell this Japanese soda, it comes in 2 flavors: ume and yuzu. $7.50 a can. S&H is $6 for the first can, $3 each additional can.
I am VERY thankful to have a repeat customer but i find his buying pattern a bit odd.
July 20: He bought 3
July 25: He bought 1
August 5: He bought 1
August 7: He bought 1
Why would he keep buying 1 at a time? Why not buy in larger quantities?

I don't know, why don't you ask the buyer?
You could let them know about the savings on shipping costs..

That's very strange. The listing description is quite clear that there's a savings for purchasing multiple items.
Stranger still: The shipping and payments section of the listing shows that each additional can is free. When I enter quantity of 3, I get a total of $6 for shipping, which is what I suspect I would be charged if I hit 'Buy now" rather than "Add to cart."

Maybe his way of avoiding drinking too much of the soda.

Thanks! I'll fix that...

LOL maybe?
I guess i should just let him continue to buy 1 can every couple of weeks and be thankful for the repeat business.
I really was just concerned about what he's paying (over paying) in shipping by buying 1 can at a time.

$13.50 a can shipped? That must be some **bleep** good soda.

I have a repeat customer from Greece.
She buys 1-2 pieces of a particular pattern of China every 1-2 months. She's been doing this for over a year now ...
She can't afford to buy it all at the same time … and I'm one of the few sellers that will ship to Greece.
I gave her her own personal 10% Coupon link to use when she buys since she hardly ever buys enough to trigger the automatic multi-item discount 🙂
🙂

Is your customer buying only one flavor or both? If it's only one, I would send them a free sample of the second flavor with their next order with a short personal note detailing the savings on combined shipping. Have you been on vacation?

Hey when youse is thirsty, youse is thirsty.
It's like when you feel like having potato salad at that exact moment... you go and get that darn potato salad asap at all costs.

I like your story. You've developed a great relationship with the buyer.

Wonder if they are reselling it? Order 3 at first to have a couple on hand then whenever he sells one, he reorders one? They still should be buying in bulk to save though. I have no clue.

Assuming that the OP is shipping to the same buyer address each time, that seems unlikely. After all, if you know that they're going to sell, you'd buy more than one replacement at a time, and just stick the extras in the fridge for now.
Are these Immediate Payment Required listings, by any chance?
