Does eBay allow a seller to "Turn Key" their business. I'm looking at retiring in about 5 years. I have a well established eBay store, and would love to sell it to someone else who would continue running it. Does eBay allow a new owner to run an existing shop?

I Honestly don't know if that is possible, I looked at your store, you have some Great Items, I would be willing to take over for you, If it is possible to do so, & we would have to discuss terms.

Probably a good question to reach out to eBay directly to answer. There would have to be all kinds of adjustments to the store settings and personal information to cover the tax implications, banking information, SSN and potentially what would happen to the feedback and seller rating given you personally are no longer running the store.
Not sure I have ever seen this question posted before. I have seen several where people are using their spouse's account or where a family is all using one account but never a total turnover.

You are not allowed to 'sell' your Ebay store.

Not allowed:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/selling/selling-ebay-account?id=4134
In the interest of protecting our buyers and sellers, and maintaining a safe marketplace, you can’t sell your eBay account or change its ownership.
Your eBay account has value when you develop a strong feedback rating and satisfy your customers.
Feedback is intended to reflect a seller’s performance, so we don’t allow accounts to be transferred or sold.
Attempting to sell an eBay account may result in buying and selling restrictions as well as account suspension or removal.
Tip
If someone offers to buy your eBay account, report it to us as soon as possible.

NO, the store and feedback belong to you and you alone. It can't be sold. You can sell your inventory.

Nope. You can hire someone - make them a restricted authorized user, but the money will still go to you, then you pay whoever is doing the work.
easiest way is to just sell off your inventory. But, looks like a pain to list thousands of items.

Hi @auntieb51
I see others have let you know that is not possible so you will have to consider other options to liquidate your inventory when you get closer to shutting things down. The value of course is in the items you have for sale so another Seller with an established Selling account would certainly benefit from obtaining a large amount of inventory at a price they can Resell for a profit.
You might consider grouping items into several large Inventory Clearance lots with Local Pick up only and see if anyone within driving distance might have interest.

Mr. L

Thank you all, I had a feeling that it wasn't allowed, and I can understand why. I'm gonna stick around at least another 6 years, then I'll consider what to do. I have a wonderful (huge) warehouse space, at incredibly low rent. I just thought that it would be a great opportunity for a younger person to not only sell my remaining items, but create their own new things. Oh well.

So are you going to ship those 5,000 items to me if I decide to take over your store?
