I had late on shipping on several items in 2020, which led to me having a below low standing account. I have severe asthma and the pandemic hit me really bad. I got Covid and couldn’t ship stuff due to my other pre existing health conditions. On top of that I live in California so restrictions were already pretty bad. I stopped selling for awhile after getting a message about how my store is not doing well and now I got restricted from selling forever.
I tried to appeal this, but no luck in getting this lifted. It is “final”. I can sell now since everything as started returning to normal.
I had no control over this, did eBay just want me to get everyone sick and expose someone with bad health condition to COVID-19?
What do I do?

Thing is about excuses is that if you let one guy use one, he’ll use some other excuse later, and others will learn that excuses work.
eBay and buyers don’t want excuses - they want for you to fulfill your end of the bargain. Your buyers did their part, eBay did its part, and you didn’t.
Hey, I sympathize with your situation, but eBay shouldn’t.

I understand that, but I was good for so long. I would like to have a fair chance to restore my account and sell like I was pre pandemic

Ebay like so much digital e-commerce is run by machine. Uncaring and unforgiving.
There is a eBay contact on Facebook that is supposedly manned by more resonable humans.
I would try that.
There is vacation hold if you need to take a time out due to your conditions.
Wish you luck.

Let me say this first, I am so very sorry for all that you have gone through medically. It has been an incredibly difficult couple of years for so many.
With that said, when you have a business, it is imperative that you do what needs to be done under the circumstances that you are given. Unfortunately, you did not. I know that sounds pretty harsh, but trust me, I live in California and have had many issues that had forced me to take down ALL my listings because I was concerned that I would be unable to mail them. As of yet, I am still not listing. I need that income, but I know that I would risk exactly what you have encountered.
As far as what you should do......There are other online sources to sell on, but they too have rules and conditions for selling. Please take a moment and realize that it is not eBay, but the consequences of your actions that led you to the place that you are now.
I'll tell you what, I am thankful that you got through Covid and are here. Take a breath and try and see what you may want to be grateful for.
I say all of this with love and hope for you and all of us that have been affected one way or the other through this unbelievable time.

Wouldn't we all like to be able to turn back time? For what it's worth... that's what it would take. eBay don't play. Dang.

If you get the opportunity to get back on ebay or if you choose another site to sell on, I recommend you have a backup plan in the event of illness, vacation or other unforeseen circumstance.
Give your kids, friend, sibling, partner or another trusted person your password and a few basics about ebay. Teach them how to check questions, end listings and ship items. If your absence is going to be longer, have the person just end the listings but ship anything that has been sold.
These suggestions would apply to any site, not just ebay.

Restricted from selling forever because of health problems
You were not restricted because of your health problems. You were restricted because you failed to maintain your seller status.
I had late on shipping on several items in 2020, which led to me having a below low standing account.
A seller's late shipment rate by itself can move that seller from Top Rated to Above Standard, but it cannot move that seller from Above Standard to Below Standard. If you went Below Standard, it must have been caused by something other that "late shipping on several items".
I had no control over this
You did not have control over getting COVID or not being able to get your meds, but you did have control over your eBay business. Every responsible seller should have a backup plan in case they are injured, ill or incapacitated.

Had control of this? What you want me to do in that situation? Make everyone un-buy everything they bought already?

As you were able to buy during this period it is obvious you had the ability to at least access and use eBay.
What you should have done is go to your selling account and cancelled all listings, or at the very least put yourself on time away.
I am sorry this happened, but eBay does provide tools that you could have used to avoid this situation, which is why excuses mean little to them.
As it now stands, your selling day's here on eBay are over, but as mentioned above there are other venues.

I already told you. Sometime soon after you started selling, you should have created a backup plan in case you were injured, ill or incapacitated. That is especially important for someone who knows they have pre-existing conditions.

You can try to wait 2-3 years and then try to contact ebay again to ask them to allow you back on the platform. You will need to pay the price. In the meantime take time to get educated about ebay how the platform works. I can tell you ebay is VERY lenient and super-flexible with sellers. If you were on Amazon, you would be fired after 2 missed shipping cases without even knowing it.

Sadly, once you are indefinitely restricted, there is no appeal. There is nothing that can be done to restore your selling privileges. I am so sorry that you lost out.
Not everyone is cut out to sell online. As you know, it is a demanding job that requires energy, effort, and clear thinking. It doesn’t go away when one gets sick and is unable to function. For me, my eBay business is like a child who cannot be neglected when difficult circumstances arise. He is still my responsibility. If i fail, it fails along with me. That sounds like what happened to you.
So, I am afraid the time for action has passed you by. All that can be done now is to brush yourself off and investigate other venues, learning from this awful experience so the situation doesn't ever repeat itself. Good luck and so glad you are on the mend.
(PS—It is your health that is the most important thing, so don’t be upset by this. You will find another marketplace to sell on.)

Alas! There were many small businesses forced to close and people losing their jobs owing to the pandemic. Many of those never got the chance to start back where they left off either. Bummer but that is the way life is.

False equivalence, an account can get reinstated with the click of a button. A real business cannot do that
