Restricted account, money on hold

I have a friend of mine who has restricted her account to sell and now they are asking her for documentation from the supplier or receipts for the items sold, her items (silver bars) were purchased on ebay several years ago, which ebay does not let her download the history of purchases for those years between 2017 and 2019, now her money that she needs is on hold and she doesn't know how to solve the problem, she is desperate and very worried because she needs that money for approximately 8k.
She replied to ebay that she cannot send her the documentation that they ask for as explained above, (waiting for a response)
what happens in these cases? she is willing to take legal action if necessary it is a lot of money

any help or suggestion

Hi, sorry to hear about your friend. I am afraid the ball is in eBay’s court now, so this is a waiting game to see how they respond to her answer.

 

Before hiring a lawyer and spending money on advice, i would recommend your friend review all the terms of the User Agreement. All sellers are bound by it when they list their first item, unless they opted out at some point. In addition, it is a good idea to review the policy covering fund holds, see link below.

If she paid thru Paypal, see if they have documentation of purchases.......

Thank you for your response, she has complied with all the requirements, she has sent the items and added a tracking number for each one of them, ebay has withheld her money for more than a month, she has called ebay and added additional information requested until today that she received this last request that she cannot send

Thank you for your answer, that was the second thing she did, she went to paypal but in paypal it's the same, she can only download the history from 2021 to 2023

my thought is this is a scam this is way to long and hate to say but  eBay can only go back a certain amount of time . she needs to talk with someone with a little more authority . something isn't right here at all . because that amount time is to long .. they need show on their end all this info if eBay can't produce they wouldn't be holding my money i assure they wouldn't .. 8k .. no

I think the same a lot of time has passed and she has complied with everything and even so, instead of improving things, she has gotten worse, asking for more and more information, until yesterday she was able to sell, then when she called, sales were suspended and they asked her for more information, then what They said that after 30 days she could withdraw your money

She needs to speak to someone with more authority. I think that a bad procedure is being carried out here with her, the people who have treated her from ebay

Your friend can get all her eBay history by requesting her personal data. It has everything back to when you first created your account. It takes about 7 days to get info back from eBay

You can go all the way back to the day you started and request a copy of purchase history. Look under accounts. 

Your eBay data

The information would have to be from the account they were bought on.

Based on your descriptions, your friend is a conscientious seller who follows the guidelines, and has provided eBay with as much of the requested documents as possible.

 

What i meant to impart in my post was more about her arming herself with the latest information on eBay’s legal stances, the money holds, and how they handle disputes with sellers. Section 18 of the UA covers that topic in particular. (Just in case she hasn’t studied it lately with the recent updates.)

 

Sincerely hope your friend will soon have her selling privileges restored in full. You are a good friend to speak on her behalf. Good luck to you both.
