Restricted account - help

Hello, it appears that my account has been restricted because there's another member that somehow has overlapping information with mine. I have been a good standing member for over 20 years and I received an eBay message stating that my account was restricted because it appears that I was using another account. I'm sure this is some kind of fraud. However unfortunately my account that I have been using for over 20 years is now restricted from selling because their system found some sort of an overlap. I contacted the phone support and they only confirmed the same. I contacted email support and they basically also said that I need to log in to the other account. The problem is that account is not me and so there's no way for me to log in. This is very unfortunate because now I have no way to sell anything. Also I have about $4000 from a recent sale that is being held until my account is in good standing which I am not able to do. If anyone can advise any next steps it would be appreciated.

Re: Restricted account - help

Here's the message from ebay:

Hello Michael,

After a thorough review of the account, we show that your account was restricted or suspended because you have a previous account that's still suspended, or you're allowing a suspended member to use your account.

Your account was found to be linked by similar contact information and / or financial information and / or account behavior to:

sfloridaelectronics

After completing our additional review, eBay has decided to uphold its previous request for the resolution of the above related suspended account and have determined that the link between the two accounts is sufficient. When we suspended your original account, we sent you an email letting you know not to create a new account or use another member's account.  eBay reserves the right to suspend existing accounts as well as new accounts opened by anyone in the same household of a suspended user or by any other associates of a suspended user. However, we know you may not be aware of all eBay policies, and we want to work with you to avoid any misunderstandings.

If you would like to have the account considered for reinstatement, then we require that you proceed with the appeals process as previously outlined.  We fully understand if you would not like to follow through with your appeal. However, if you decide to not resolve your related account, your account will remain in the blocked status that it is currently in. We take your concerns seriously, and we look forward to working together with you to review your account further but only once the original account is in good standing.

For more information, you may review our Multiple Accounts policy by accessing the following link:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/multiple-accounts.html

-- Note --

- It may take up to 3 business days to review your information.

We appreciate your cooperation in resolving this matter as quickly as possible. We look forward to working with you to restore your selling privileges.

Kind Regards,

Patti

Re: Restricted account - help

So far, all I can find is the other account name you cited was registered Mar-03-20, with private feedback. It is now no longer registered. Does that date ring any bells?

Re: Restricted account - help

Do you remember having an account that got restricted before?  Does or did anyone that lives or lived with you?

Somewhere they are seeing a connection.  It may not be you but someone else related to you or using your same IP address.

Re: Restricted account - help

It can be a friend or relative was using your Wi-Fi.  Have any holidays where folks came over with their laptops?  Have any teenagers with friends?  Whoever this person is they have in some way gone against protocol or even defrauded eBay and owe money.  If you can figure out who it is and fix that account it might help your account.
