Hello,
So I've been restricted forever from ebay indefinite and i dont know for what since i had 100% feedback good buying and selling reviews. My mom on the other hand has had her ebay account and used it here and there to sell stuff, her account got restricted when she came to visit for the day, is this because she logged into my wifi using her OWN device? We hadn't seen eachother in years and ebay pings her that there a "linked" account which my ebay store came up. What can she do about this? This is unbelievable to be honest, and when she reached out to ebay they were super rude to her and told her "ebay doesn't want sellers" like yourself that have violated ebay?? When she showed me, has 96% overall great selling and buying and ebay doesnt even allow her to explain her situation, ebay has to do way better than this. Can anyone shed some light on this please , thank you.

Sorry, but that's exactly the way it is - from what I understand, there's no time limit either. If someone gets banned on a given IP address, that IP address is toxic for anyone else's account. That's why it's wise to only use your on internet connection for ebay transactions.

and Social Security Number .
Since the first two are legitimately changeable (marriage, job transfer) it would be the SSN that is required for Managed Payments that does in the sketchy seller once banned.
Seems legit.
For all the furore over ID for MP, it seems it will be a useful tool for restraining Bad Sellers.
Too bad Mama's bad selling practices hit the OP's account. 96% ? Oof.

how block all accounts that login from same IP
let's say a hospital's wifi a bank wifi a big corporation wifi
if any employer at any of these places gets suspended all these thousands of employers connected to the same IP will get suspended? like this eBay will have to suspend the whole planet
That's right, wont be suspended upon IP, MAC addressing perhaps. IP's often rotate so for example you give up you're current provider, IP gets assigned someone else and they're out? Nope no way. Besides, many providers rotate IP addresses, one has to literally pay for fixed address if they want one. But even the MAC address be sketchy, Pop's sold his PC and the Network Adapter MAC address on the security Daemon, not likely.
Now the OP being logged in whilst mom logs in the Daemon see the parallel and flag it, that's possible and if her account was suspended then yes, the robotic code per se might raise alarm and flag the account.

96%? Good riddance, frankly, unless she's a very small-time seller who got hit by one bad transaction.
Hospitals here do offer free open wifi to visitors and patients. All it would take would be one bad seller using that wifi to poison it for every seller ever after. It's why when I sold I NEVER used an external wifi connection without dire necessity. I did use my local library's physical computers once when we had a week-long power outage but that was in 2011 - different world. I wouldn't dare do it now.

She showed me something she bought and her phone connected to my wifi, unfortunately. & as far as my account been restricted indefinite, I still dont know why and and the few times i tried to clear my story out when they asked for invoices i had a legitimate explanation but even that I never had the chance to straighten anything out with them. Now its a bit of annoying that moms haas nothing at all to do with my ebay or anything I do and she was tied to me.
Um, what you just explained kinda sounds like an issue to me.

Whoa, sounds like it can spread like covid. Just have the OP be malicious and log into his ebay account on every free wifi network he connects to.

The linked accounts based on IP address was a constant surmise on Amazon for years.
But most ISPs provide variable IP addresses which change when a new connection is made.
For years Amazon sellers refrained from using WiFi hotspots for fear of being linked to suspended accounts.
For years, I and other sellers used WiFi hotspots without an issue.
If your ISP is Xfinity, not only is it safe to use a Hotspot, your Xfintity Gateway hosts an Xfinity hotspot.
Linking by MAC address would avoid these risks but acquiring the MAC address of equipment would require some clever code. No standard system call to acquire it on most platforms.
