So I had my shipping preferences to require buyers phone number, specifically because I had active local pickup listings. This isn't my past normal preference. Anyways, I just sold a local pickup item, paid through paypal, and they got away without providing their phone number? Any idea what happened? Does it not apply to local pickup transactions?

Phone numbers are not allowed to be collected anymore; I have a website that has 'require phone' and nobody does it, there is no place for them to provide anymore. Probably something to do with anti spam calling etc.

I am not that familiar with pick ups but the information that i have is that it is not a mere phone number but a code or id number that confirms item was delivered that buyer has to provide
If you failed to obtain that number you can try contacting the buyer and then pray /hope buyer is honest and provides you with that number

My interpretation of the OP's message was that he wanted a buyer's phone # to make arrangements for the buyer to pick up the local pickup item that he sold.

I always see the phone number in Sellers Hub / Order Details. Did you check there?
