Re: Report a scammed

I experienced the same thing, I received a bid on my item and asked me to call and text him for delivery instructions. He didn’t pay the said item and the system still mark it sold. I think if the customer didn’t process his/her payment within the given period of time transaction must be cancelled and please do something about this scammers that trying to victimize your sellers. Thanks

Re: Report a scammed

As a new seller, you are a sitting duck for scammers, they think you are easy pickins'...be sure to ignore them and block them..thats all you can do..

Re: Report a scammed

The same for you..file an unpaid item case to get your fvf credited, and block the scammer.

Re: Report a scammed

We are sellers not ebay you should report these buyers direct to ebay. I recommend you build your feedback a little by buying from a few other sellers on ebay. Secondly things you have up over $70 you should know ebay scams as a new seller make sure you read up on how you can lose your product and money if you get scammed. Your a target for scammers with a low feedback score. Suggest you maybe stick to listing items under $40 for now till you build your account and gain more experience on this platform.

Re: Report a scammed

Good for you! You did not fall for the “text me” scam.

It is not easy to report this kind of activity to eBay since you have not sold the item to the fraudster. There are links to report a buyer or seller in the policy pages but not a random member (well, there used to be a link for other members but i cannot find it now).  It may require your going thru the Help & Contact link you can find on most pages. Follow the prompts. Good luck!

Re: Report a scammed

Sometimes you can Report the scammer through the eBayMessage.

You can avoid most of these scams by using Fixed Price/ Immediate Payment Required listings and ignoring the dying Auction option.

The shoes will then stay visible for 30 days or until someone PAYS for them.

You can raise your FeedBack, which acts as a weak Seller Protection, by buying from sellers who leave FB promptly.

Best wishes in your new business.

Further proof eBay does nothing to protect the casual seller sadly.  I find it amusing buyers can send whatever info they want in a message, but sellers get threatened if they try to verify a problem in a buyers address.
