Relisting protocol not consistent

Until a couple weeks ago, all of my unsold items would be automatically relisted.  But now, some of them require me to manually relist.  (I get a message that "relisting is as easy as 1, 2, 3.")  There's no rhyme or reason as to why some items now automatically relist and some don't.  Two items that were originally listed on the same date will have different protocol, even after both had automatically relisted in a previous week.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there a way to be sure that items will automatically relist?

Thanks in advance!

@hoos99,

You seem to be using auctions mostly, so if your auctions are not relisting automatically, it is because you're not eligible for that anymore.

Re: Relisting protocol not consistent

As lacemaker said, it's a perk for new/infrequent sellers and once your sales volume increases eBay figures you don't need a relist cushion; you have a better idea of what you're doing to sell items the first time you list.

Re: Relisting protocol not consistent

Thank you and lacemaker3 for the information.  I didn't realize that the perk was limited to new and infrequent sellers.  I still can't figure out why some of my items are automatically relisting, but I now understand why others aren't.

Because they haven't used up the 8x relist yet that was active when you first listed them.

You won't get the option on new listings.
